A Face by Many Names

"For I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one can come to the Father except through me." If you believe in the bible, it shows that really, there is only one way to God,(Jesus Christ) and that there is only one God. It also says God's children are not to bow down to other Gods, only the one true supreme being. Christianity says that the only way to get to the TRUE God is through Jesus Christ and that all other ways are false. I believe this to be true. I think this is a fasinating topic for discussion and im so glad you wrote a poem about it! i am a christian and i really respect other religions, but i do not think all the "higher beings" are the same thing. that is not what the bible has taught me as i have read it. please don't misunderstand me, because i do know that many people believe something else, i'd just like to put my opinion out there.

This is a pretty good poem, although i do think that it would help to add rythem. well done. =)

It is quite an interesting poem because you had a distinct message. The fact that you said what you wanted to say by putting it through how God (or your name of choice) might say it makes it so much more powerful. It is concise and easy to read. However, it hits you hard and says a lot. My favorite part is the examples you used to show where God is. I would have never used those examples. You could have put anything there because you are saying that God is everywhere and everything. Just out of curiosity, what made you use the example of the unturned stone and the fallen log? It works well, I was just wondering. Congrats on writing such an intriguing poem.

I thought this was an excellent take on a higher power- this poem definitely got into God's head. I especially liked this part of the poem:

This part was very interesting to me because it display's God's infinite power. I also liked this part:

[QUOTE]Call me Allah, God, or Buddha, no matter because I am yours.[QUOTE]

This bit displays the universalism of the belief that there really is a higher power up there. Great work, overall. I really liked this poem!

Even though this is ultimatley a religious poem I think that many people can relate to this. I am not a religious person but I enjoyed this poem (hey attracting a wide audience well done )

Unlike Katherine, I dont think this needs rhyme, sometimes rhyme can distract away from the actual words and meaning of the poem, and I thin kthat there is some sort of rhythm there.

Well done, I hope to read some more of your stuff in the future

I am very impressed by this poem. Just the title is capturing. Your word choice was very good. The only change I would make would be possibly integrating some meter into this. Not necessarily rhyming, but giving it a rhythm. It would pull the readers attention into it more. As well as putting more feeling into the words.

And especially since it concerns Religion

I am A Christian but this poem makes sense to me on so many levels
I always try to understand what the other religions think or feel on certain Scriptures or Verses in the bible
But through this It does not matter as you said
"Call me Allah, God, or Buddha,
no matter because I am yours."

True It Really makes no difference what we may call him as long as he is ours and we are His
