A/N: Hello there! If you are new to my story, or maybe just reading it again, I'd suggest you to rather read my 2nd Draft, thanks for reading! ^^
Far across the lands of east, the sun rose. Daylight spread to the world and shone upon the green landscape. Jacob, a nineteen old soldier at the service of the King, was guarding the little camp. He had a tall and muscular body and dark brown hair. His face had a square shape, with a light skin tone and eyes of earth.
The boy went to some tents placed in a small circle and woke the men inside.
''These summer days are always so bloody hot.'' A man complained.
''You won’t complain when winter comes and the cold creeps upon you.'' Jacob replied.
''Rather that than this.''
A short silence took place before Jacob mounted one of the horses and said; ''I spotted a small lake on our way, I think I’ll go there and wash myself whilst you eat.''
''Have a go.'' The man replied as he went inside one of the tents.
The boy rode the main road stretching through the entire realm.
As he trotted downwards the path, he spotted the lake he had seen earlier. He rode the horse down to the water, and tied it to a small tree. The sound of water flowing in a stream sounded as he came closer. Jacob took off his clothes whilst sweat ran down his body in the sunshine. Silence broke when he dived into the water and a cooling feeling met him under the freshwater. It was a bit cold still, even though the weather had been good the last days. For some reason, his body felt weightless. Not the kind of weightless you feel in water, but as if, he was flying.
Suddenly he started panicking and gasped for air. He had ran out whilst his mind was elsewhere. Summoning all his strength, he took a stroke upwards to the surface and broke the surface, panting for air. When he got to land, he started coughing up water he had swallowed.
Afterwards he had gotten his breath back; he looked around him as he noticed something. Things were not the same around him. Something had changed. The grass was greener, the water was clearer, and the sky had a light red colour. His senses had improved, the vision was sharper, he could hear in a completely different way now with clearer sounds, and he could smell the fresh bark from the trees. What happened to me? He wondered with a confused look. His horse was gone, but his clothes was still lying on the ground.
Jacob grabbed them and started walking from where he had come from. If I can get to the main road, I can follow the path back to the camp, he thought. Dusk would soon come. How was that even possible, that the time had gone so fast? It wasn’t. He would have to hurry if he wanted to reach it before nightfall. If they were even still waiting for me. On the other hand, they would have searched for me by now. He had told them where he was. Something strange was going on, as if he had travelled back in time or something. Perhaps he was dreaming.
After walking a while, he found a road, but much farther away from where it had been. Have I gone mad? He thought to himself. The sun went down, and darkness came. He sat down on the ground, wondering what was going on. Then he heard something. Hooves. Someone was coming. He didn’t bother to hide. If I stay here, I will most likely be killed by some wild beast, without a weapon. The rider came in high speed, and managed to stop right in front of him. His cloak covered the face in the dark.
‘’Who may you be, wandering around in the dark all alone, not even armed with a blade?’’ A woman’s voice asked him.
‘’A soldier, in the service of the King. I am delivering something to Watford.’’ He replied.
‘’I have not heard about this place you call Watford. May I ask of the name of this man that you are calling king?’’
‘’The only king, King Henry III.’’ He told her with an insecure tone. The mysterious rider stared at him as if he was some kind of mad person.
‘’What is the closest city from here?’’ Jacob asked her, a bit more terrified now.
‘’Asgard of course. Any other cities would be far away from here. Tell me, what is the name of this kingdom?’’
‘’This kingdom? These are the lands of King Henry. I do not recon it has a name. Neither do I know anything about this city Asgard.’’
She studied him a while before she spoke again;
‘’Get on my horse. We will be in Asgard before dawn as long as we hurry and have a safe ride.’’ Suspicious eyes came from Jacob. He did not know this woman, but it would probably be his only chance to get help here.
‘’Trust me. Your time may be very important. Not only for you, but also for many else.’’ Considering it, he did not have any option. He did not say anything, just sent her a short nod and climbed the horse.
Thank you for reading chapter one. To be honest, I think it went a little slow or had too few details. Please give me a review and tell me your honest opinion. I will be getting more on his personality, and I'm not sure if I will keep his name. Thanks again.

Hey there again,
i see that you have made an explanation about Asgard in the comments!
You are not wasting your time, dont you? Whatever happened there just made me interested into your story.
I have two things to say about this chapter:
First, character's assumption that he might have traveled back in time is a bit odd there, totally out of place for me. I think that you should replace it with some more naive, down to earth guess.
Second, the last sentence was really confusing for me. What is she actually telling him? I mean, i get it that she obviously knows whats going on, or that is how it sounds. But its just not working for me. Well, maybe is just me.
Will keep following your work, you got me interested.

Thanks again for you review!
Traveled back in time? If you are talking about the last lines, she means that his time may be precious, as in they are in a hurry. ^^ I can try to clear that up a bit more!
I posted a 2nd draft of the chapter where I added more description and information, which may clear up the stuff you're confused about!

Precisely, in the large text in the italics there was talk about down there in the comments. But its allright, i didnt notice 2nd draft and i will read it as soon as i have time, sadly i got to go now.

Okay so it works now.. Well lets just do a comment;
It isn't completely based off Norse mythology, but I wanted at least Asgard from it, and I am considering basing the story off it. The name Asgard is such an awesome name imo and sounds like a great capital!
I will be extending my sentences with more details, and try to put a bit more information about King Henry.
As for the italics part, first person was my intention, so I have a done change to that now.
The title may be changed, I am considering it. It really depends a whole lot on where I take the story. Another title may be more fitting in that case.
Thanks for the review!

QuietQuilla desu!
I really liked this chapter, but I feel as if you skipped over words or detail that was key to bringing your readers in. The diction is a bit off as well. I feel that if you're going to use words like 'whilst ' or 'upon' it needs to be more constant, especially in the narrative parts.
" It wasn’t. He would have to hurry if he wanted to reach it before nightfall. . . He had told them where he was. Something strange was going on, as if he had travelled back in time or something. Perhaps he was dreaming. . . He did not know this woman, but it would probably be his only chance to get help here."
I feel as if this was not meant to be in italics...and traveled has one L. It feels like narratives...because it's not not in first person.
Aside from the lack of detail and critical mistakes, this is a good story line.
I like the concept and an looking forward to your next installment!
Thanks for the review!
When I look over it, I realize that I really forgot to change it into first person on some. The other sentences I just need to remove the italics.
Could you tell me what you mean with using words like ''whilst'' and ''upon'' more constant?
- Zontafer
Well, the diction of the narrative writing in the story is sort of semi- modern/ old English, while (I think) you're trying to go for the mid-evil type of diction.
You have to combine the King Henry III and Fantasy/mid-evil tones and diction into the story to make the ready feel as if they are in another realm and time period.
Hi Zontafer, Here to give you a review!!!
Firstly I have to say that I agree with you there are very little details in your story, and I think that maybe if you described the surrounding a little more it could help.
Secondly, the line "He had a tall and muscular body and dark brown hair. His face had a square shape, with a light skin tone and eyes of earth." could probably be a little more attractive. Perhaps you could get rid of the full stop and make a compound sentence instead, or try using complex words that have more of an effect.
Thirdly I am a huge fan of Thor, and I was quite surprised when I found out that your story is based on Norse Mythology. So I think it would be better to explain or even just identify the setting a little bit more at the beginning, maybe even including something about King Henry the third.
I also noticed that the sentence "He did not know this woman, but it would probably be his only chance to get help here." is in italics. If you intend on making this part of Jacob's thoughts then remember to change it to first person pronouns, or if not I think you should change the font from italic.
Anyways I believe that your story is really awesome and attractive, I also think that your title is really really attractive, and I suggest that you don't change it.
Keep it up!!
