This is a fable I wrote in eighth grade for school. The assignment was to find a motto we liked and write a fable for it.
Once in a forest in a hollow oak tree sat a little squirrel crying over the happenings of that afternoon.
A fly was flying by when he heard the mournful sound and flew over to see what the matter was.
"What happened, my friend squirrel that you cry so?"
The young squirrel looked up and said, "I have such a horrid life. Wherever I go I am running for my life and searching for whatever I can find to eat." He began to cry again.
The fly looked out of the hollow tree to see rain falling hard and turned to the squirrel saying,"Be glad of one thing my friend. You may leave this hollow tree safely."
"There is always someone worse off than yourself."

Good job, it was short and cute. I noticed a few things, but the story was good the way it is, so feel free to ignore me.
This sounds a little bit strange, usually people write what was the matter. It's fine how it is, but it kind of through me off. And in this line:You should have a comma after squirrel. Well, that's all. It's a good story. It sounds almost poetic, which is cool. But yeah, I liked it.
Yeah, it was awesome! But I have it now, and it's really starting to fill up!
It's too bad we didn't do more with the quote wall thing. That was fun!!
Yeah, I just tend to be a perfectionist about my personal writng:) I'm going to try to get more up though. Thanks!
What quote? the signiture one?? Yeah I remember the board. Too bad we didn't get more up there. But If your talking about my sig one, I put it on the board. It's been my like my most favorite quote for forever:)
Hey! You don't have to only post completed works. I don't know if you've noticed yet, but most of YWS is actually things people haven't finished. Just saying...
I like it! It's cute, and it's got a good moral. Hey, that quote is the one JW stuck on our quote board! You know, the one we had for Comp class at the beginning of the year? I have that on my wall now, and it's like a third of the way full already!
It's not much, but it's the first thing I actually completed:)
