My name is Noah. I don’t even know where to start. I’ve let tons of people down in my twenty years of life. Myself included. Life is strange, very fucking strange. You meet people, you build relationships, and all of a sudden it’s gone. Like it never even happened. We take pieces of every person we meet and we absorb it and mold it into who we are. I myself have met lots of people in my life. Some very good. Some very bad. But every single person i’ve met has evolved me into who I am. I’ve loved. only a couple people in my life, and i’ve hated most. I’m not the type of person you’d take home to your mom. I’m kind of awful if i’m being honest. I sometimes drink too much, I smoke cigarettes like they’re going out of style, and I curse more than any person i’ve met. My childhood was absolutely fucked. My father died when I was four. My mother abused me alongside her many “boyfriends”. I got into drugs and alcohol at a fairly early age. I had some friends who were not good people, like I said earlier you become who you surround yourself with so you can take a guess at the kind of person I was. I overdosed a couple of times which made me realize I need to cut the shit and stop doing drugs. I still drink, but i’m working on that part. I used to fight a lot, I still do. I’m also working on that. I have absolutely no clue what i’m doing with my life but i’ll figure that out when the time comes. That’s kind of my “life story” as cliche and fucking ridiculous as that sounds. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I have.

Hey, welcome to YWS! This site's been a haven to me for the past four years and I honestly don't know what I'd do without it. I hope that you'll love it just as much as I do.
This was refreshing to read and I admire the honesty. That's one nice thing about this site- and the internet in general. You can bare your soul to other people through your writing and art and music, without having to filter it or worry about judgement or any kind of backlash, for the most part.
Anyways, this isn't a typical review, but really just a response to the subject matter in general.
Whether you are Noah or Noah is a character you created, reading this was both a relief and a little painful, because it was relatable. Reminds me of myself and my own family, all of our individual problems and the ways in which we're awful and messed-up and ridiculous. Our various addictions- to drugs, cigarettes, alcohol, sex. Abuse, bad friends, mental illness, the deaths of family members, loss of friendships. I could tell all kinds of crazy, scandalous stories that no one would have ever expected of me or my family, but I think that's just the 'human experience'. No one is perfect and most people are messed up in one way or another- we just put on a brave face, smile, laugh, keep it to ourselves.
But I'm still an idealist despite realizing that. I believe what's important is to just keep moving forward and working towards your ideals- even if you know they're impossible to reach. You haven't failed if you're still trying. At least, that's what I got out of reading this.
Overall: I liked this introduction and found it relatable and thought-provoking. The format, punctuation/capitalization, and lack of paragraphs could be fixed if you wanted it to look more polished, but for what it is, I think this works. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you, I%u2019m fairly new to the whole writing thing so formatting and all that is completely foreign to me at the moment.
Hello, Walker! Welcome to the Young Writers Society!
First off, I really loved the message. To me, this meant picking yourself back up when you're down, and improving yourself after hardship. That's a really important moral.
The tone you set also worked really well with this piece.
However, there were a few small mistakes I noticed, such as the formatting. Making any piece of writing one large paragraph can make it hard to read, so I'd suggest splitting it into multiple paragraphs.
Also, on a more nitpicky level, I noticed you didn't capitalize some of your I's, maybe go through that again.
Anyway, other then that, this is a very motivational story, and I will absolutely leave a like. Again, welcome to the Young Writers Society! And have a good day!
Thank you, I really appreciate the advice!
