Your comment was posted, but it wasn’t long enough to count as a review. Reviews need about four complete sentences (at least 250 characters). Try writing another review that explains your thoughts in more detail — the author will appreciate it, and you’ll earn points for it.
Hello hello, I hope you dont mind me popping in with a quick review. I apologize for this being a shorter one. However, I hope I can still brighten your day with my thoughts nonetheless. I think that's enough of my rambling I should probably start the review properly. Let's get into it, shall we?
Overall I found this a relatable read. Although it's short I feel you portray what an unstable family life is like very well. The fact that everything seems fine on the good days but the bad days are lingering underneath. Of course, you have some love for them but it's complex and messy. I think the brackets show that in such a vivid way. There is so much you wish you could say but cant because that could make things worse.
I also enjoyed how you touched upon the act of brushing those fights under the rug. I have experienced many of those awkward days where we don't talk about it despite it lingering all day with all of us. You know that things could be avoided if we work together but none seems to be open to it. This is just so true I hope this doesn't come off as venting it isn't meant to be.
Furthermore, I loved the last line! It has such a haunting impact that sticks in the reader's mind.
Now moving on to feedback I couldn't find anything this time. If I had to say one it would be adding a text version to make reviewing easier. However, that is less about the poem itself and more about reviewing.
Regardless, I enjoyed reading this, I hope you're doing okay. As always keep writing and remember to drink water!
Hey friend! Ellie back here with another review for one of your fantastic pieces! I was so happy when I saw this in the green room. Let’s not waste any more time and let’s jump right into the review:
This is a very short poem, but you accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. To begin, we see that this poem is written to your family. You begin by stating that you love them, although they drive you crazy. One thing I really liked about this poem is how you used those brackets to show Internal thoughts and ideas, perhaps things that you can’t say to your family, but things that you still feel very deeply. The regular sentences seem to show external things, such as everyone’s smiling, even though on the inside there’s a storm underneath that sunny sky. I also like how you use common phrases that we see a lot in certain types of poems, such as brushing some thing under a rug. I interpret this, as hiding some thing, not actually cleaning it up, And sort of just hiding it until the future when it all come back to haunt you.
This poem ends in a pretty dramatic way, which I really liked. one thing that I love in poetry is seeing really big questions asked, especially if I feel like it’s something that can relate to my own life. You ask us the question “why can’t you just communicate with each other“. And then you go onto that the word miserable is your least favorite word. In my interpretation, miserable must be a word that you feel a lot with your family, although it seems like everything is happy on the outside. I love the symbolism within this poem, the internal word being hidden within the happy ones. Overall, I think you did a lovely job at expressing this contentious feeling that you must feel amongst your family. This poem was very short and sweet, but I enjoyed reading it and I look forward to reading more! I hope you have a fantastic day and keep on writing!
Your friend,
Ellie
HI Valkyria! It's Serrurie, here to leave a review! Let's dive in:

The Good Stuff
- I think it's interesting how this is formatted like we just saw you type it. I think it helps convey that this is simply something you were thinking about
- At first I thought this had a bit of humor to it. Despite that, I really enjoyedf the message. How a lot of people have to lie through their teeth, even to those they love, because no one expects an honest answer. They expect the polite one.
- Keeping your true thoughts in parentheses shows how you're hiding it really well.
- I enjoyed how simple this was. It conveyed emotions quickly and conciesly, getting to the point well.
- I also like how the title continues the parenthese pattern.
Overall, an amazing poem. Keep doing what you do well. Happy writing, and have a blessed day!
