Whenever people asked him, why he did it, he always told them the same thing
~To escape~
He was flying, straight up in space. There was no way of stopping him. Everything around him was black. He was searching for the light. That’s what he needed; he needed to find it. Before it was too late.
~Before it was too Late~
In the distance he could see it. He could see the light. It shined and sparkled and for just a second, everything made sense.
~Everything made sense~
It was beautiful.
Yes, this is what he wanted. He was going to leave this vile world and escape. From the time he turned 12 he wanted to do this, he wanted to touch the light, and to leave this place, forever.
~To Leave, Forever~
He knew he had made it. The light was in sight. He reached out his hand to touch it when suddenly he was knocked to the side. He had lost his momentum and now he was just floating. He looked up, he could still see the light. It was right there above his head
No problem, he started swimming in the air. He kicked and he rose a bit. There was no giving up now. He was so close, he could almost taste the light.
~So close~
The light dazzled him; he knew there was no turning back now
~No turning back~
He reached out his hand and tried to touch it again. He missed it, but only by a few inches. If only he was a bit taller, he would have been able to touch it. He wished with all his heart that it would come closer, that The Light would come closer.
Suddenly these black hands griped his shoulders. The light started to become smaller. The hands were pulling him away.
~Pulling him away~
He couldn't give up, he had come so far and he wasn't ever going to go back. He fought the hands, they were gentle hands, like they were trying to protect him from something, but he didn’t care, he had made his decision a long time ago. This is what was meant to happen.
He got away from the hands and started to jump mid air to try and get closer. The light was getting smaller still, and then he realised the hands weren't pulling him back. The light was drifting away
~Drifting away~
He had to get to the light. He had to. He couldn't go back.
~Couldn't go back~
He could feel the tears pouring down his face. He wanted this so bad and just for a second he thought he had it, he thought he had made it, and then those stupid hands ruined everything. He jumped again, and he hardly moved at all this time. The light was moving further and further away. The hands griped my shoulders again.
It was hopeless, he had lost. He couldn't believe it.
It… It… was impossible
He had failed. The one thing he was meant to do and he failed at it. He let the hands keep him back.
~He had failed~
The light was too small to see anymore, and now he was stuck here on this vile, disgusting earth. He was so close, to beauty.
~Vile, disgusting earth~
Then he found himself in a hospital bed. His mom was staring at him and then when she saw that he was awake, she smiled and started to cheer, “Marc’s okay! Marc’s okay,” the rest of the family ran into the hospital room, “Marc’s okay! He’s okay”
~Marc was okay?~
He suddenly felt incense pain in his arms. He stared at his arms and he found that his arms had been cut deeply with a knife. Blood still dripped down his arms
He had done this
Then he realised something.
The hands, It was the hands of his mother. She stopped him from reaching the light. She didn't want to lose him so she pulled him back down to this awful place. She didn't want to be alone so she forced him to stay away from the light. To stay here, on this vile, disgusting earth.
She obviously didn't want him to be happy. She thought she had saved his life, which was false, she had ruined it.
~Ruined it~
The one thing he wanted, was to reach the light and his mother stopped him. How selfish.
She was selfish
They were all selfish
~Selfish~

This story was very moving. I loved every bit of it. It got the overall attitude of a suicidal person being brought back to life. If someone wants to die they don't really see that they are loved. It doesn't have a happy ending - or it does, depending on which way you look at it.
The last line "They were all selfish." It kind of seems like it is talking about both Marc and his mother. He is selfish for wanting to leave because he isn't happy.
The only mistake that I that hasnt be corrected is, "black hands griped my shoulders" you switched point of views. This only happened once that I saw.
Beautiful!
Oops... Thanks for pointing that out... I'll fix it now!
Thank you so much for being so kind and thank you for the lovely review. You are completely right about both of them being selfish. Thanks again

I loved that, so much, you sent shivers down my back.
You moved me:/

I think the story is very sad. Which doesn't mean I don't like it...I think it's very well written. However I do have honest issues with the way Marc feels that everyone else is being selfish (I totally understand that it's part of his character) but I do have personal issues with his feeling vs my own. Truthfully his mother didn't wholly stop him due to selfish reason but also for reasons of love; she wanted the best for her son and she brought him into the world and he is killing himself, so the idea she's selfish doesn't send an entirely truthful view, although I do understand if it's just Marc's view at the time.
I like the 'one-lined' type of sentence structure and think it's very effective. Also, the way you've headed each section gives off an effective emphasis on the last line of the previous section.
I'd prefer this poem if it ended with Marc realizing that his mother is not the one being selfish and that she only wanted to save her son; because of his future and because it's her son..which is a loss no mother should ever have to bear..(I do understand it's part of his character but would've been better for the message of the poem)
Overall there is great potential. A few grammar mistakes but otherwise well done and keep up the good work!
Hey,
. The story is about how he sees things in a completely different way that most people do. Like most people see death as darkness and life as light but Marc sees it as the opposite.
Yeah I know where you are coming from and you are correct. I agree with you 100% and its good that you saw that. It shows that you are really clever and you were able to go against what the story was saying
Marc's vision on the world is not a healthy one and it will never be.
I don't agree with Marc either which is weird because he's my character but yeah

And yeah... I should of ended it that he realises that his mother is the true hero but the impact wouldn't of been the same... Like Uhm... I don't know... DFTBA
Hey...ok, so it's nice hearing that from the author...thanks for clarifying
It's really good work
Hello you.
The structure of the poem is kind of odd but still its nice. The theme is as sad and suicidal as one would love - or as a teenager would-.
As the previous comment said, there are some grammatical mistakes. Anyways, your work is good enough and you should keep on writing and letting those inner demons show.
Still I would advise you to try and write about the bright side of things. There is always a better place from where you could see the world and at least for a second forget about all the shadows.
Good luck on your writing.
Hey,
... I know about the grammatical mistakes... I always seem to look over stupid things like that
... Thanks again
Thanks for the review

Hey Tiny here!
Suicide poems are my favorite poems. Sorry that's creepy, but dude you killed me with this one. It hit me so hard. Parents just want the best for us, or so they say.
Review:
The "every time" at the end isn't needed, its kinda implied by the always.
", before it was too late." Is its own sentence.
Comma between second and everything.
Period to a comma.
Period at the end of your sentence.
Inches???
The doesn't need to be capitalized.
"which was false: should be isolated by commas.
Okay so besides these mistakes this was beautiful and how sad!
Keep writing
Thanks... I changed the mistakes now... I always seem to have stupid mistakes that I always look over
Thanks for the review...
And until next time
