Here is one of my oldest works of genius. I did not post it previously because I wanted to make sure such talent could be properly appreciated here. Well, I may be out on a limb, but I am hopeful this poem will be seen in the proper light, because it is, after all, rather thought provoking.
Ode to an Omelet
Dearest omelet, as I stare at thee
Your yellow pieces bring me glee
Like a crumpled sun, or a shredded flower
Dare I take a piece? Omelet, do not cower.
For at a fellow employee's desk
I do eat thee, while she, I test
Sent a’ wafting is your warm ketchupy scent
Whist I ask anxiously what the manager meant
When she said that she didn't like omelets . . . .

Sharty--
I fail to see the humor in this. You are eating an omelet at work...so what? This is funny in the way a dog getting mangled by a car is funny: it isn't.
Take care,
Brad
Sharty,
I loved reading this, it not only brang a smile to my face, it made my day. It was such an odd subject to write about, but you pulled it off nicely. Loved it!

I've eaten ommelets for dinner...
This poem was quite amusing.
Omelets are strictly breakfast food. I thought I should let you know, there could be no encore because there is simply not enough brilliance in the world, which includes my mind, to replicate this piece of glory.
Brava! Poetry about food! Encore!
Speaking of, I want dinner. You made me hungry.
Oh, look at the Google ads...

No need for soap, Dreamy, I assure you. Not yet, anyway.
That is so funny
I can't stop laughing!
David... you missed the virtual soap bit. ^_^ Shhh.... be discrete. Or run. Works quite well, actually.
Quite insightful. ^_~
[s]Weird[/s] [s]strange[/s] interesting poem, Sharty... almost beats the sharks and bubble bath... o.O
I knew Robert Burns--it was quite a while back, and I was one of his major inspirations. To say that anyone here would not envy that? Now, Griffinkeeper, I believe you are out of line! Cheerio.
Not all critics are jealous Sharty. Please treat your fellow members courteously, even the harshest critics. They're just trying to help.
I like poems that parody themselves. So many poems are melodramatic. It's only when it's applied to an undramatic object that it becomes funny.
A great thank you to those who have understood the great beauty of this piece. To those who do not apply to the preceding statement: Jealousy is firstly unnacceptable, and secondly, fruitless when there is no possibility of equating my poetic phenomenon. Apparently I was wrong when I thought there may be those here deserving of my influence.
Very nice, breakfast really isn't the subject of enough poems lol the most important meal of the day at times seems to be the most underappreciated
I think it's more like genius masquerading as non-genius masquerading as genius... ':\
If you know what I mean.
I think he means, at his employee's desk he eats the omelet, while he sees how far he can annoy her (with the omelet's smell) until she finally loses her mind. Since I guess she doesn't like omelets...but who doesn't like omelets?
But anywho, this was quite entertaining. The rhyming fits well. This is seriously genius.
hahaha
Just like misty, I thought you were serious about that "genius" ah well, for humour it is just perfect
If your Egg McMuffin fell apart, I suppose...
This is silly... hehe... but why would he be eating this omelette at work?
Wow, that's certantly interesting.
I don't understand...
If you were going to do a v2, I would sugest a limerick. I think this is the type of subject matter that would go perfectly in one.
This was really ridiculous. With a little revising, it could be passed off as mediocre comedy, but it takes itself too seriously. It's just an omelet.
*snort* oh my....hahah...you know I thought you were being serious about "genius" and "appreciated talent." *laughs* oh goodness...ode to omelet, eh? Well if I were Sam I'd beat you with a stick for the *ergh* absolutely horrible rhythm, but I am not, and I don't do the rhythm thing. However, assuming I did: The rhythm was awful, absolutely wretched. It threw the reader so far off I could hardly grasp the topic--that is, shakespearean omelets.
However *snort* Wow.
