Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening/Night(whichever one it is in your part of the world),
Hi! I'm here to leave a quick review!!
Anyway let's get right to it,
The vessel moved through a light fog, swaying back and forth atop the rolling waves. A white moon hovered overhead in the night sky, casting an eerie glow against the deck. Men worked silently and swiftly across the ship appearing only as shadows in the haze.
Sperling was the only being that stood motionless at the front of the ship. He peered through the thinning mist, hoping for some sign of the English fleet. He half imagined a dark silhouette moving through the fog, and more than once stirred to what seemed to be a lantern’s light in the distance… but nothing truly materialized. These false illusions were mere tricks from his anxious and exhausted mind. They were alone. Alone ever since they were separated from the main fleet, and they would sail into France unaided.
Well this an interesting piece to go through. It seems we've got a bit of an excerpt from a story rather than anything else, and it does in fact seem rather ambiguous as to where these two mentioned paragraphs here actually came from. That certainly makes for a very intriguing situation here at the start as you're now left trying to decipher what this could be about.
From what we do get here, there is a distinct sense of some sort of adventure here with the mention of this vessel and wanting to enter a place that I get the feeling the people here are perhaps not meant to be entering. That is certainly the vibe we have here, although considering how small of a part this is, that potentially doesn't mean all that much.
At any rate, this is a pretty nicely constructed pair of paragraphs here and I think they're potentially a part of something that does seem like it'd be intriguing. And that really is about all that can really be extracted from this rather small extract that you've got going here.
As always remember to take what you think was helpful and forget the rest.
Stay Safe
