The End

Why am I only of importance,
When I have something you want?
I am not a child’s toy,
To be thrown out when you’re bored.

I am a real person,
Made of thoughts and emotions.
I show my perfect side to you,
When on the inside I’m broken.

I’m not as strong as you think,
Not as nonchalant as I seem.
I care just as much as you would,
So stop it, you’re being mean.

I am kind and I am quiet,
Nodding and smiling throughout.
I think it’s time to let you go,
Because you’re making me something I’m not.

I can’t stand being an object,
A person you come to only for help.
Because if I ever need you,
You will be found nowhere, I bet.

So, this is it, this is the end,
The end of your deal with me.
I’ll be fine on my own with time,
But will you ever be?

Wow, this is truly a stunning poem. I love the rhyming pattern, it really resonates with the poem and really makes it flow nicely. The last stanza is beautiful, a great way to tie the poem up. This is very powerful and could really resonate with your reader, a great job with it. This is very powerful and I really enjoyed reading it. : D

Wow, this is a beautiful poem. What i'm getting from this is that this person was being kept quiet and was probably being emotionally abused in their relationship. This is h hard topic to convey, but you made it so beautiful and perfect in you poem, with the wording you chose.

Being forced to change or act a certain way for someone is very wrong, and you put it so beautiful at this part.

"I am kind and I am quiet,
Nodding and smiling throughout.
I think it’s time to let you go,
Because you’re making me something I’m not.

Right around her the person begins to make it clear that they want out of a relationship where they are not treated fairly. That they are going to leave the other person and move on to find someone who will treat the writer right. That like in the title The End, their relationship is ENDING. There is so much progresion in this poem, and it makes it so great, to see a characters change throughout the poem.

My favorite part is the last stanza, you end the poem so beautifully. That the writer will have no trouble moving on and forgetting, but will it be so easy for the other person to.

"So, this is it, this is the end,
The end of your deal with me.
I’ll be fine on my own with time,
But will you ever be?"

Overall you did a great job on this poem, and it shows that you are a great writer. Can't wait to read what you write next.

Carpe diem,

Okay, let me just start off with how I interpreted this. The language you used made me think that this person was being silenced/emotionally abused in a relationship with their partner, which is a very heavy topic to write about. But you managed to portray it in an elegant, but also powerful manner, which makes me like this a lot. Being forced to act a certain way to fit a partner's vision of you is very harmful, which you encapsulate really well in the fourth stanza:

"I am kind and I am quiet,
Nodding and smiling throughout.
I think it’s time to let you go,
Because you’re making me something I’m not."

It is here where the speaker begins to really make it clear to their partner that they are leaving them for someone that can hopefully treat them better than the latter, and that's great to see! Progression in feeling within a poem in such a treat to read! Also, it ties into the title of the poem, "The End". This poem marks THE END of their relationship.

In all, I really liked this poem, and hope to read more of your work. You are a really talented writer!

I hope this review helped you in some way!

Cheers!
