That awkward first moment session I always remember. We never talked to each other, and often said a hasty 'Hey'- with that fake excitement in our voices just to prove that we are not ignoring each other. Little did we know that we weren't always going to behave in that manner forever.
So, I don't know what happened that day, i mean I can't seem to remember what really went down. All I can say is one of us took a bold initiative and decided to not just say the awkward hello and leave, but rather start up a proper convo right after that. Long story short, it worked; what we talked about, I can't remember, but the one memory which decided not to leave my head is that excitement we had during the conversation, and us not wanting to end it. One thing was for sure, we clicked, and we both knew we couldn't deny that.
Exchanging our contacts was followed by following each other on social media. One thing led to another and all I can remember is we had tons of lengthy conversations, some of which made no sense to those watching us, some of which made less sense to us. The question is were we bothered? Definitely not! We were in our own world, and didn't care if they understood this buzzing, crazy, feeling we were experiencing.
Never did we write down any kinda policy or terms of agreement thing that others sometimes do, But we had this unsaid, unspoken, in sync mode kind of understanding that existed between us. Sharing our stuff, walking down the roads together, I bet those living down the streets could easily spot if we were coming, 'cause we literally became inseparable. Talking about the crazy things we would always love to do, but knowing deep down in our hearts we would never do, yeesh! as cliché as it might sound we were the definition of the ultimate friendship goals. But did we really believe it was going to last forever? Hmmmm! Funny how we used to think back then.
The stormy days began. I don't know if you could feel it, but I used to feel it from within. Having petty, stupid arguments we shouldn't even have, unfriending each other for about five times in a day? What was happening to us? Refusing to accept our faults and shoving away our stupid pride, we rather resorted to not talking, until one of us caves and apologizes. But that wasn't really an issue was it? Because we always made up after such an episode. I guess we felt complacent with how far we had come.
But it became a daily routine, especially when you had to travel; thanks to Mr. Distance, he totally ruined whatever little strand of hope that was there for our friendship. Once upon a period we couldn't end a day without speaking to each other, but now we could go for months without even saying that awkward "hey! we used to say in the beginning. And the times we had that opportunity to talk, our conversations ended up in a silly argument. Moments of unanswered calls, leading to conversations ending up in blue, we were falling apart. We were drifting away from each other, and we made no effort to hold on to the good years.
Instead of talking our hearts out to fix the broken parts, we rather thought it was best to act tough and not bothered. Boy did we mess it up entirely when we resorted to anger. Then one day, one decides to erase all those happy moments of ours and deletes everything from contact to that bond we shared. With neither one of us wanting to say sorry because we all feel we are Saints who did no wrong.
Damn that folly of our youth, the impulsive nature of the teen age, and curse or foolish pride. For we have created this huge gap, and now know not how to bridge it Was that really the best thing we could do? For if we had talked enough and talked about it, We could have been lauded for progressing from total strangers to becoming inseparable. But look at us now, we moved one step forward only to go three steps backward, Our crazy young hearts made us change from strangers to friends, That same crazy, stupid, wild, young heart of ours made us strangers once more.

Hi, I'm going to review to the best of my abilities. I think the poem itself was good but the view kind of messed with me. It's written in like a story kind of format and it really distracted my attention from the actual poem. I would suggest writing the poem with lines and and stanzas with each sentence seperated. The poem itself was good though especially the story line. There were a few spelling errors here and there.
I loved this poem. It was so well written, the plot was amazing, and you can write really REALLY well. Your punctuation, spelling, and grammar was fantastic, it was very easy to read through. My only problem is, this isn't really a poem. I can see why you called it a poem, but to me it seemed more like a short story. But, I did like the way you formatted it, even though it didn't seem like a poem. Keep on writing and Merry (early) Christmas!
awwwwwn, Thank you very much for your review. A Merry early christmas to you too dearie
