Now doth Time waste me.

E - Everyone

In Poem

PreviousNext

Pretty awful, but hey, it's a first attempt. I do a lot of wondering whether everyone experiences time in the same way that I do, but I usually tell myself to shut up.

What is Time?

Is it a product of our minds?

Who can hear its baleful chimes?

Who is left when Time unwinds?

Is it me?

Who is Time?

Does he scheme to foil our plans?

Does she scream to break her bonds?

Is he an idea of man's?

Is he mine?

How is Time?

Is he always quite the same,

Always driving us insane?

Is it wild, is it tame?

Do we make Time?

Where is Time?

Does she live far out of sight?

Does Time fly home every night?

Who else is there, her way to light?

Do we own Time?

Why is Time?

Time is not all that he seems;

Is he a product of my dreams?

Is Time there to fix and mend,

When those who seek events to bend

Do so, leaving Time all torn?

Then he is at once reborn.

Time is Time.

Time is Time,

That is all we can ever know,

For Time is an illusion.

Lunchtime, doubly so.

Hey ObserverxD here ! Before i get started I want it to be clear that I don't believe everything I say is a fact. I'm just expresing my opinion on your work. It doesn't have to be absolutely correct, so take it with consideration.

The subject of your poem is as old as time itself (see what i have done here xD ). It was discussed by phylosophers and a lot was both written and said of it. Having said that I don't mean that your topic is a cliche. It's just hard to say something about it without repeating someone elses words. Your poem in general is fun , interesting and has a nice ring to it. The rhyme is consistent, and I see no fault in it. It is clear that you have a mind keen on phylosophy.

Cheers,

Hello Dice of Quantosity!
First of may I like the rhyming, it reminded me of Zagraus, and suited the subject matter of time accordingly. It was slightly less uniform than Zagraus however, and thusly didn't have the same nursery rhyme feel.
The title, although fine for those who get the reference (like you, or me) however it seems a little random if you don't, as it starts half way through a sentence. The last line however is perfect; The reference makes sense even if you don't know it, and you changed the rhyme scheme for it.
Hope this helps,
Take That You Fiend!

Thanks, human, but it's spelled "Zagreus".

Hello, I can finally return the review you have done for me. Now I will break time my reaction in two parts.

Reading the poem: *breathless*
Finished reading: *confusion*

If this was your first attempt at poetry then I'm scared what will happen of you master it, it will be a very scary thing. That little twist at the end did on fact baffle me for a second before I started grinning and nodding in approval. Time, is a pretty difficult subject to write about in f act, the whole concept of time is a slippery eel that always seem to slither out of our reach. Though I think you have grasped a lot of good concepts here, and a lot of questions I wonder myself from time to time. I also love the personification you have done here, bending time into an actual being and then at the end, you break all illusions and assure us time is all an illusion.

Time indeed, is. It will be the most sane or perhaps insane conclusion we can come to right now.

I also really love your rhyming, it really blends in with the poem and has this steady, jovial rap to it. All the rhymes are well chosen and doesn't seem forced at all, as for the punctuation, grammar and spelling is as flawless as it can get.

The only problem I have is the line, 'Why is time'. It didn't quite make sense to me, I mean the lines above and under it all makes sense independently so why write why is time? Or maybe you are trying to complete the, who, what, why, where and how series? It certainly appears to be that way, though it still sounds awkward. Whether to do something about that is up to you.

Overall, an awesome poem on the concept of time. I love it, thanks for sharing it with us, you are going to be a great poet if you keep this up.

Kudos.

Thanks awfully! The "why" was meant to relate to the idea that Time might be there "to fix and mend", which came from the idea that paradoxes resolve themselves.

Oh! >.< Now I see it, I apologize for my stupidity.

Apology accepted. I'll ensure your death is painless.
