Little things

Have you ever thought
When you felt distraught;
A trifle thing said by someone
Can ruin your day or make it fun?

Did you ever think this way
In the darkest of your day,
Decide to give one more try
And ask yourself why can’t I?

Has the realization ever occurred
When you got deterred by a word;
One genuine smile, a heartfelt hug
Is what it takes to make things work?

Did the truth ever strike you really
In your happy moments of victory;
After achieving heights unbelievable
What actually matters is the struggle?

Just one single spark
Can light the darkest of dark.
One pebble in the ocean
Can set the water in motion..

These things that seem so little,
Are worth much more than just trifle.
They don’t make much clatter,
But still, these little things do matter.

P.S. The lines might seem unconnected, but they made sense to me. This piece isn't exactly awesome, so I need suggestions to improve this piece.

I really like the lines:

Just one single spark
Can light the darkest of dark.
One pebble in the ocean
Can set the water in motion..

Thank you for your reviews, harleighblake and JRaye...
@harleighblake- I sometimes use that website, but couldn't find any satisfactory word... Still, I'll try...
@JRaye- In the second stanza, the small thing I'm pointing out is the little ray of hope, the thought of pushing a little bit more... :)

I liked it, it brings up a good point about the little things in life but i'm having trouble connecting the second stanza to the rest of the poem.

maybe i'm just sped, but how do the last two lines relate to the small things in life?
i don't really have any suggestions, but i'm just telling you what doesn't make sense to me.

I really like the over all setting and and the topic. It made me smile and brightened my day. I do have a problem with stanza three. You had a really great flow until I read that. A little bit of editing to make it flow would help. Try making it fit together and what not by sticking with the rhyming. I know that is difficult to do. I know of a website that helps with finding words that rhyme. I have the app actually on my iPhone it costs money but the website is free.http://www.rhymezone.com/...I hope this helps. By the way this is my first review :)
