Breaking The Mould.

Shes Not Normally So Cynical,
But Shes Just So Worn Out,
For The Things Bestowed Upon Her Heart,
Have Filled Her Up With Doubt.

In This Abysmal Day And Age,
She Struggles For Recognition,
Why Must She Be Somthing Shes Not,
Just To Fit With Their Conditions.

For Their Detrimental Words,
Echo In Her Mind,
With Their Acrimonious Statements
Not Very Far Behind.

Their So Prejudice To Her,
Because Shes A Teenage Girl,
And Just Because Their Forty-Somthing
And Claim To Know The World.

She Feels Supressed By The Way
Society Wants Her To Be,
And Looks At The Ground And Whispers. . .
Whats Wrong With Just Being Me?

Hey there!

I have to concur Man again -- the capitalization was a bit over the top and can easily be done without, as it would make this easier to read.

Poetry about being misunderstood and such has sadly become a cliche, and to be honest, no one is going to be terribly interested unless you give them a reason to be! So, give us a reason -- elaborate a little on why she's misunderstood or such and give it to us in a poem. ;)

Hey, how's it going? This was enjoyable to read and I think you expressed yourself clearly with this. Just follow the basic sentence pattern, okay? Capitalised letters on the beginning of each lines, small caps for the rest except from proper nouns and all those things.

Anyway, there's nothing wrong with being yourself but if you want to live as a member of a society, you have to bear with their rules. The word is adaptation, being in tune with nature. The best way is to go with the flow, but in moments of recluse or moments of silence, feel free to express yourself in any way you can.
