A Passing Memory

One, two, three
bump, bump, bump.
Stop.
My breath catches,
and for a moment
I forget my promise.
I forget not to think about you,
forget not to love you.
I think of your eyes,
a blue I have never seen before
and never will again.
But the moment passes
and I restart my heart.
One, two, three.
Bump, bump, bump.
I Let your memory slide away
even though I know it will come back,
it always does,
to haunt me.
And now I will start again
to keep my promise,
the one I made to my mind,
to let you go,
and with you the pain in my heart.

You have some true writing potential... I really liked this poem and I like how you had the memory fade in then out... Although I think maybe you should have used more detail in the poem to support the memory a litte better :-) But keep up the good work
