Let's dance, let's dance.
Give me a chance
to hold you close to me.

This night so young,
where we feel one,
swinging to this melody.

My arms tighter,
your eyes wider
in the dead of night.

Leave you breathless
with just one kiss
under the moonlight.

Hmm, I did't really like it that much. It was kind of juvenile coming from an 18 year old. Sorry

I like it! Short but sweet, sorry if that sounded clique but it's true. It reads very well and i like the rhyming structure, it's very consistant. I take it you know breathless and kiss don't rhyme? This isn't a problem unless it was being read out though.
You're not a terrible poet, don't be so hard on yourself! Anyone can write, but you have to enjoy it :)
Happy writing

Way, way back in the 1988 Presidential election, then Vice President George H W Bush had a phrase he liked to use: "A Thousand Points of Light." It refers to the idea that a community is made up of people who contribute in a thousand, different small ways, but with each helping to illuminate their community. It's a phrase I think about a lot when it comes to YWS. Looking forward, the site will continue to change and grow, but it will always remain a community dedicated to promoting creative writing as a favorite pastime.
