Dear Margaret:
I have not seen much light in months. It has been day enough for me to write most of this for you. Putting it simpally, I am in grave danger, my dear.
My ship has been through thick and thin, but I fear it is on it’s last leg, so to speak. I long to see you, but the ice on the place I am sitting is wearing thin. Not just one kind, either. Physically and mentally, I am worn out, searching for food. In this barren wasteland of what some calll home, I can find no one. No one is here but you. The image in my mind of you is what keeps me alive, but I fear it may not be enough to keep me moving.
I know, my dear, that you must be sick with worry of my absence. I also know, or at least hope, that you are searching in the green lands of Iceland for me. I am writing this in vain, for I know you will not find me, but in time, you or someone may find this marvelous note, and read it to you, or to our children and grandchildren. I am writing this, that, in some thread of space and time, you may be able to see this, although it will never be with you, that you may be able to read it through my thoughts, my loving memories, and my hopes for you.
Always know, my love that I will always be there for you, in this time and whatever time may be ahead of us. I will read this aloud every day as my crew falls apart and wear to nothing and, as my ship’s oak withers into roots of darkness in my vision.
I love you with all my heart, but I must stop, for the light is thin, and the air is even thinner. Always know that I am with you. Thank you for your love and your kindness, I know I will not be found, and I know that this letter might not ever be found, lost in my cold, cold hands. But it warms me little to write this with all that is left of my heart and caring. I love you dearly.
Sincerely,
Alexander

Waah!!!! Such a touching story! More like a letter...

Anyways...Hey Aquestioning! I just came up with an idea! On this review day I will review some of the works of those who are on my follower and following list!
Anyways...lets get started. Firstly Kudos to you for writing such a heart warming and emotional piece! Had it been anything like a movie I would have cried...lol
This does not have a basic storyline because of which its a bit difficult for me. Making this a journal or somwthing of your fictional character would be nice. Also this could be the epilogue. Some people write the ending first and then starts the story so if you are alright with it then you could do it that way...
I will try to review this letter now...
Seeing that this is a letter, the beginning and endings were just how it should be.
Your prose is quiet good and you used it in such a way...I could already imagine who or how that man was and the whole letter screams old english even if the language was quite simple and lucid.
You even managed to paragraph it well and to top it off this has a very good undisturbed flow. It started and ended at the right places. I really liked the emotion of the piece. Other then two typos I don' t see any mistakes.
Really! Awesome work!!
