Here For You

by OMGhamsterdweeb

On the outside, you wear a mask

To hide what you've seen in the past

But I know how fragile you really are

From the amount of tears you've shed so far

I just want you to know that if you ever feel bruised and blue

If you ever need a shoulder to cry on, I'll be here for you

You hate people giving you looks of sympathy

And giving you things out of pity

That's why if death comes knocking at your door

You'll be happy to pack your bags and go

I just want you to know that if you ever feel bruised and blue

If you ever need a shoulder to cry on, I'll be here for you

I'll hold you close to muffle your pain-filled cries

I'll be gentle when drying your red-rimmed eyes

I'll stroke your hair and tell you everything will be alright

I'll do my best to prevent you from walking into the light

On the outside, you wear a mask

To hide what you've seen in the past

But I know how fragile you really are

From the amount of tears you've shed so far

I just want you to know that if you ever feel bruised and blue

If you ever need a shoulder to cry on, I'll be here for you

I'll hold you close and muffle your pain-filled cries

I'll be gentle when drying your red-rimmed eyes

I'll stroke your hair and tell you everything will be alright

I'll do my best to prevent you from walking into the light...

Hello there! I stumbled upon your work in the Green Room, and your synopsis gave me a good laugh!
(It's not a love song, if it was...ew.)
AHAHHAHAHAH! Something which makes me giggle is usually a good read!

First of all, the title is so fitting with the lyrics. Beautiful, three words, full of meaning. A brilliant title for a brilliant song! This would be one I'd love to listen to if I wanted to relax.

The tune, the flow, it is all very soothing-- calm, serene, pervading the reader with relaxation and some happiness, knowing a friend is out there for us no matter what....allowing us to rest assured.
The sincerity of the words? It was so heartwarming, every line had such meaning and such powerful impact. It felt as though it was truly written out from the concern of a meaningful friend, one which is so hard to find, one who truly treasures and cares.
To think the words all rhyme...it just made the whole thing perfect!

" You hate people giving you looks of sympathy

And giving you things out of pity"

The realism spoken in these words really make the reader relate-- doesn't everybody feel this way?

" On the outside, you wear a mask

To hide what you've seen in the past

But I know how fragile you really are

From the amount of tears you've shed so far "

Brilliant imagery!

" I'll hold you close to muffle your pain-filled cries

I'll be gentle when drying your red-rimmed eyes

I'll stroke your hair and tell you everything will be alright

I'll do my best to prevent you from walking into the light"

Now then, these words of assurance are powerful, especially when it is implicated that the person in need is suicidal and the friend is there to help. Such heavy care unspoken in these words, the powerful meaning...

This was simply a job well done, a beautiful song from the heart, one which grabs you by the soul.

It's beautiful. I may not see the rhythm the same as you, but it's still beautiful. I can't find the words to explain it, which is a rare case for me. I especially like this part:

"I'll hold you close and muffle your pain-filled cries

I'll be gentle when drying your red-rimmed eyes

I'll stroke your hair and tell you everything will be alright

I'll do my best to prevent you from walking into the light...

It's so beautiful... It almost made me cry.
