As a little girl I would imagine her as a superhero with a long and flowing cape
She would dress me from my head to toe in fancy monograms and bows
When it was time for bed she would tuck me in tight and kiss me on my nose
I looked to my superhero and knew I wanted to be just like her and it surely showed
I was her little princess and she was my queen
She made me my favorite dishes and awfully danced with me to my favorite tunes
As the pink and green ribbons ran down my golden hair I always knew
She was my inspiration and my best friend
A queen and her princess till the end
A little girl and her mother, what an everlasting love
As a preteen I looked up to her and she showed me her strength
She went through a lot but would not break
I adored her positivity and I believe she passed it onto me
Middle school was constantly rough but she never left my side
As I cried hysterically she held me close and told me I would be alright
She loved me when I couldn’t love myself
Bows and monograms turned into hollister, attempting eyeliner, and straightening my hair
Even when I was always being a brat she was still there
I was not a little girl anymore and that she could see
I was still her little princess and she was my queen
As a teenager I saw her as my best friend
We would stay up eating ice cream, watching movies and shows
Always laughing about things and making stupid jokes
I was a hot mess and she was always helping me get through
She knew when I was struggling and would let me skip school
Tears would fall and she would wipe away the droplets falling from my eyes
She never stopped believing in me and she would always tell me I was so wise
I looked forward to our lunch dates filled with hamburgers and fries
A lot of girls argue and dislike their moms as teens
I on the other hand was a princess who loved her queen
It will only be a few months until I leave for school
Most girls are excited to get away from their moms and their rules
I on the other hand don’t like to think about leaving behind my best friend
My mom will always be my superhero until the end
I will miss her every day hugs and our funny conversations
As I near being a grown adult I know she fears
Once a little ballerina dressed in monograms and bows, I am now a flower all grown
The support and love I know I can always count on and turn to
I have always looked up to her and I think she always knew
We would forever be bonded by the love we share
A princess and her queen a bond never broken, I swear

Hiya Msho13,
I really like your poem. This poem clearly is an emotional and heart-touching one. From the first line to the last, I was able to relate to it. This poem is an excellent way of saying 'thanks' to your mom. I bet she liked it
I like your poem mostly for the fact, that you have used plain words in structuring your poem. In my opinion, poems with simple word usage are more heartening and moving. However, I think you should breakdown the poem into stanzas.[I am not saying I do not like it this way;I love it] Well I guess, I have any other nit-picks on this poem. The simplicity of your poem is what gives it its beauty.
That is all from me for now. Keep on writing and if you need help, feel free to PM me.Good luck.

I think this is a great piece and I also was absolutely touched by your message. Honestly, I think more people should be commenting on this! I wish you the best of luck!!!!

I actually cried when reading this, it was so beautiful. I can't say that when I'd leave home, I'd miss my mother's rules and such because, honestly, I hate them, but I was truly touched by your message. I think you have real talent and I hope you work hard to make it bloom.
All the best,
A fan.
