Dolly

Sammi sits in her room, hugging her doll tight. The four year old rocks back and forth, laughing as she does so. Her mother lies in front of her, eyes gouged out and throat sliced. "Mommy is gone Miss Giggles. Mommy is dead like you wanted." Sammi whispers to the doll. She laughs once more. "Daddy will be home soon. He can be with mommy. DEAD." She screams the last word, and holds up her doll. "Miss Giggles is aaaall the family I need. Miss Giggles is my mommy now." She stands up and sits in front of the front door, waiting for her father to return home from work. "Daddy, daddy, daddy!" She yells when he walks through the door. "Yes darl-" Sammi didn't let him finish. She had taken out her knife and stabbed her father in the stomach. "Mommy is in my room. She is dead. Miss Giggles is happy now, daddy. And so am I." She says as she stabs her father multiple times, humming a dark tune as she does so. He coughs up blood and she laughs. "Daddy, you are silly." Sammi stabs him in the throat and after a minute or so he falls over, dead. Sammi laughs maniacally and skips around her fathers dead body. "Daddy is silly, so so silly!" She sings before walking out the door. "Miss Giggles, you want me to kill more? Ok. I will, because I love you. Family forever." She whispers the last part and hugs the doll tight.

Hi there,

I have to admit that this is better than most longer short stories I read so far. I don't know if you expect a full review, but there is not a lot to say about this because, it is so short.

I would have liked a bit more detail about the father. What was the look in his eyes when he was stabbed the first time? Did he try to say something at all? something that answers those questions for example.

I really liked this 'little-girl-kills-people-because-her-doll-says-so' idea. It's a classic idea in horror yet it seems that people don't look further than werewolves and vampires, which is a shame of course.

Because it is so short the story strikes the reader. I would say, try to elaborate this idea a bit and with that, try to keep the reader just as horrified as after they have read the short version of it.

keep writing,
