Best friend poem

PreviousNext
I am now who I was back then
Forever please remember when
I was me and your friend
I was not nice
I was not mean
I was somewhere in-between
But still you stuck up for me
I am forever in your debt you see
So please do not ignore
As you have before
You are my friend

The simplicity of your work is quite refreshing. Especialy

So please do not ignore
As you have before
You are my friend
My best friend

The playful rhyme scheme is quite cute and, to me, reflects the adolescent child-like feel I pick up.

When I say "child-like" I don't mean anything like immature or childish. I mean it has an innocent, pure tone of a minor

I am now who I was back then
Forever please remember when
I was me and your friend
I was not nice

This first part I feel really represents the innocence I was speaking of.

Thank you very much for the wholesome poetry.
I was not mean

Pretty nice poem about friendship you wrote here. I did not spot any spelling or grammatical errors. I noticed at the end of each stanza how you tried to make the words rhyme which made the poem more interesting to read. I could see your tone and the emotion very easily. Overall I give it a 4.5/5

Good. Now spelling errors, as far as I can see. Very well edited, and organized well. I especially like lines 4, 5, and 6. They have a nice beat, and seem to express the emotion of the poem very well. Keep it up, great job!
