True Meaning of Kindness

PreviousNext

What is kindness to you?

Is it the greeting of someone u have met out of the blue

Or is it the sharing of your items, your materials with someone

Maybe you think it is the smiling, talking and hugging of a friend

Or maybe you just have a very complicated meaning of kindness

Now listen, listen and listen good

Let me tell you my meaning of kindness

Kindness is a deep cleansing breath that rejuvenates us with purity

It refreshes us with goodness

Gives us strength to persevere and overcome troubles as it brings people to help you closer

Wait, don't act like you've understood it that fast

That was just the beginning of my meaning of kindness

To me, kindness malso means love

It is a constant and consistent reminder of why we are here and how we should use our lives to help others

It is a sincere and voluntary use of your time, talent and resources to better the lives of others

It is an act of genuineness of love, compassion, generosity and service

Kindness is a choice

Circumstances will test us

People will try us

News will trouble us

Life will hurt us

But you, you alone have the beautiful ability to be actively choose to be kind

Well, we all have heard "Charity begins at home"

But today, it isn't a charity event

So allow me change the statement in relation to kindness

Kindness begins with you

You can't be kind to others when you are not to yourself

Kindness is a gift everyone can give everyday

But not only to others but yourself too

Kindness shows us we're all worth the effort and all efforts have worth

Talking to someone kindly is worth you but seeing the genuine smile on their face is worth it too

It pushes us to be best by reminding us to love ourselves and those we share with the world

It challenges me and you not to be satisfied with mediocrity but to do better-to strive to be better

In a nutshell, kindness is love in action

A way love is expressed

A reason to why love multipies and an example of what is possible when love is prioritized

For it is one thing to be taught kindnesssss

And is a different thing to be touched by it

So the best way to understand kindness is practice it

Don't wait for the time when kindness is declared to be shown

Practice it yourself to your being and to others

So you will understand your own true meaning of kindness

hey there miracle!! great poem over here. the message is great and the presentation as well. i guess at the end of the day it all comes down to our definition of kindness. often circumstances don't act in favour of kindness or they don't make kindness an option. its reminders like this that keep us in check and help us be better people. thank you. i really think though that this poem could have used a little bit of more flow to it in a way that slides off the tongue but then again that's just my opinion. keep writing anyway write, write and write

Hi MIRACLE EVE ASIIMWE,
I'm here with a review. I really liked this poem. I feel like kindness is very important and this is a nice little reminder. Horisun has already told you about the grammar mistakes and how your idea can get a little confusing, so I won't repeat that. I'm going to tell you more about the structure of your poem. There isn't any punctuation. The problem is that your poem doesn't have a rhythm or a melody to it. Your poem is talking about an important subject and I think adding punctuation to it will make it more expressive. I would also suggest you add stanzas. As it is now it feels a little too square and long. Adding stanzas will make it easier for the reader to understand your different points of view about kindness. It's also visually more pleasant.
I hope my review helped you and that it didn't offend you in any way,
MoonIris.

Hi MoonIris,
Thanks for the feedback but I actually put stanzas but the format with which this poll works didn't let it and I was hoping to start using a Word document. As for the punctuation, am really sorry and I will work on it as it kind of slipped. Plus the rhythm and melody that is what have always aimed at when writing my poems, but this is more of a remainder putting across a special message and I felt that once I use rhyme and melody, people tend to leave out the message and go for how it sounds. Thank you so much.

Good Evening, and Happy Review Day!
This poem has a beautiful message, and I really enjoyed the middle verses, "Circumstances will test us, People will try us, News will Trouble us, Life will hurt us" and how you end it with "But you, you alone have the beautiful ability to be actively choose to be kind"
However; as amazing, and heartwarming as these lines are, I do have a small critique for your poem. Your message is a little muddled at times.
Let me explain.
There are a lot of words strewn around your piece that bog it down a little bit. For example, this amazing line that I referenced earlier; "But you, you alone have the beautiful ability to be actively choose to be kind" This line, as I've mentioned, is incredible. However, I think it could be improved by shortening the sentence to help your story flow a bit better.
For example, "But you have the ability to choose to be kind"
Of course, that's just my opinion, but I think it might be worth looking into.
There are also a few inconsistencies with your grammar towards the beginning of the piece. You use "You" In one sentence and "u" in the next, and you use punctuation for the first question, but not again for the rest of the piece.
Despite all of that, this poem was great! The message is one we could really use right about now, and there really are some incredible lines in this! You do have a bit of work to do on your word flow and grammar, but I do look forward to seeing you improve, and reading more of your work!
Happy Review Day, and have a Great Week!

Thank you so much. Am putting all these reviews into consideration.
