This is a poem my friend wrote for an English project. She had to use all five senses to describe something. This is what she wrote:
Some Words are music to my ear
Others are deadly and rotten
Kind words are majestic as the deer
The taste of sweet words is never forgotten
But hurtful words pierce as a spear

Hello!
This poem is so clever! I love it! It's just very small but it has a lot of impact into it. I don't occasionally use A-B-A-B-A rhyming schemes when I write poetry, but I will have to try it! Though, I would have added some punctuation to emphasize it a little more. As in the second line.
Others are deadly and rotten
I would have added an exclamation mark at the end, therefore, more emphasis. Anyways, this is great! Your friend is very talented.
I'm going to review this because I like it. I always enjoy the A-B-A-B-A rhyme scheme and this poem especially is fun to read for rhythm and rhymes. The fact she explained words in the five senses in five lines is also praise-worthy. The second line could be a bit stronger in referrencing the smell sense but overall still follows the rhythm and tone. Your friend is very talented.
It is very good, I like and I can think of a few choice words that would fit this.
