They say ‘all’s fair in love and war’,
But I beg you, in fact, I implore,
Please don’t listen to this lie,
Or else it may cause you to die.
They say ‘all’s fair in love and war’,
But now they’re crying on the floor.
You know that this just can’t be true,
Or else they would’ve got you too.
They say ‘all’s fair in love and war’,
Please don’t say that I’m a bore.
My friend, you must hear me now,
Or else soon, you may not know how.
They say ‘all’s fair in love and war’,
And now they’ve gone and locked the door.
I’d hate myself, I’d hate you too,
If this awful phrase were true.
They say ‘all’s fair in love and war’,
But together we must scream ‘no more!’,
If we stand alone, they’ll take us down
And then all we can do is drown.
They say ‘all’s fair in love and war’,
But really, my friend, are you sure?
They go to places where evils dwell.
To succeed we must follow them to hell.
They say ‘all’s fair in love and war’,
It chills me straight unto my core.
You mark my words, they’ll kill us all,
Lest their noble empire fall.
They say ‘all’s fair in love and war’,
But it’s about time we settle this score,
Let’s rise up and give them a scare,
As love and war are just not fair.

HIII! I'm Azzy, and I'm going to write a little review on this poem of yours
I love how each line starts with this! It really gets your point across!!
I also like how the last two lines of each stanza rhyme, that's something new for me & it's very cool! And the 2nd line in each stanza all rhyme when you put them together!
YES. Going from the simplicity of 'beg' to using 'implore' shows that the speaker is very serious about this!
This contradicts with the original quote "All's fair in love and war" (which is what I believe you were trying to do), and that is perfect for the message you are trying to send out through this poem!
The only "issue", if I can even call it that (it's a non-issue, sorta idk), I have w/ this is that some of the wording could be a bit confusing to some? Some people get things a bit slower than others, which is not your fault AT ALL, nor is it theirs-- just saying that could make a few people confused! Otherwise, this poem was really good & I enjoyed reading it! Keep writing and have a blessed day, ml! <3333
I really enjoyed reading this! I love how the phrase “all’s fair in love and war” keeps returning throughout the poem, because each repetition adds more intensity to the message. The rhyme scheme also makes it flow really smoothly and gives it a strong, almost chant-like feeling. I especially liked how the poem gradually becomes more urgent, from warning a friend at the beginning to standing together and saying “no more” near the end. The contrast between love and war was really interesting, because the poem challenges the idea that anything can be justified in either situation. I also liked the darker imagery, especially “they’ve gone and locked the door” and “they’ll take us down,” because it creates a sense of danger and urgency. The final lines bring the whole idea together really well and make the message clear. Overall, this was a powerful and memorable read, and I loved the determination running through it.
