Ode to Harry Potter

Alohomora
click
It's still too dark to go outside.

Lumos
a beam of light
filters through the open window
And down below
the stormy streaks glow
eerily.

Impervius
Go now. You won't get wet.
The clock strikes.
Midnight.

Footsteps outside

Colloportus
Pull on your invisibility cloak.
Quickly,
Before the muggles break down the door.
Ready for adventure and magic galore?

Knock, knock

Now, my friend.
Mount your firebolt
and fly
to a place you have never been.

The glittering droplets fall through the light
Rainbows of color
light up the night

Point me
Follow the compass,
Keep your wand out --
there might just be dragons flying about.

The journey is long
but there is no time to rest:
life is far to short for that.

Look into the sky
and watch the stars spin.
Each constellation holds a surprise.

Have you filled your dues?
Are you finally home?
I think so.
Nox

Okay, first of all, I have to say: I really love this. I'm a total Harry Potter nerd, and this is really awesome. I like how descriptive it is, like acting out a scene, which is pretty awesome. Also, it's cool that you had Lumos near the beginning and Nox near the end. The whole thing really just fits. It fits together, and it fits me:) The way you transitioned- by adding a new spell or action- made it smooth and really put it together. Bravo.
The only thing I can criticize is that you spelled "Alohomora" wrong, even though "AlohAmora" is how it sounds.
Master Yoda, please teach me the force. You added subtle rhymes, and they were not everywhere, I really think this poem is awesome. You really made something we Harry Potter nerds- who have read the books eleven times- can read and go, "Wow. This is.... really really super great." The use of Onomatopoeia was also excellent. Bravo man, bravo.

I love the way you transition through the poem by relaying different spells to the different situations, it made the poem really flow together, especially for me, a Hp fan. I also like the was you subtly gave hints to what each spell may do by the different scenarios. Good work.

There are darknesses in life and there are lights, and you are one of the lights, the light of all lights.
