Death came for me
To take away my life of glee,
So to stop the final kill
We struck a hefty deal.
Death said, “In order to be free,
You will have something to lose,”
So in order to pay this fee
I must find something Death would choose.
First I tried to give him a pear
But all I received was a deathly glare,
Then I tried something he might wear
But he acted like he didn’t care.
I rushed into the backyard
And tried to give him my turtle bob,
But he wouldn’t let down his guard
And continued to act like a snob.
Death point to a near by clock
And said, “time is almost up.”
I gasped in a frightful shock
And ran to grab my mother’s silver cup,
And with no such luck
He turned it down,
With no choice I went into my truck
And drove into town.
I started first at a mini mart
To see if he wanted some candy,
But his words broke my heart
When he said, “this is not fine and dandy.”
I frowned and realized this was not easy,
But I had an idea to gain the winning edge
Something I believed was rather cheesy,
But could guarantee to keep his pledge.
I stood my ground
Ready to tell what I had found.
I will give my heart and be your lover.
Thinking, Death began to ponder and wonder.
Giving me a skeleton grin,
I knew that I had won,
But I had committed a sin
For what I had just done.
Exchanging a handshake,
My life was mine to keep
The feeling was only skin deep.
Death had my love to take.
When the time will arrive
Into the darkness
I shall take my final dive
To embrace the blackness.
When I take my final breath
All I am shall be given to Death.
had to do an english assignment. The poem had to be at least 50 lines and it had to rhyme. I kinda liked my poem so I decided to post it.

Definitely a cute, funny poem. The idea is fantastic, but there are two things that really stick out. One is the inconsistent rhyming scheme, which as you read on becomes less important, because you're just reading for fun. The second is that a few of the rhymes seem a little bit forced, such as"up" and "cup" and also "candy" and "fine and dandy". By forced I mean that they sound as if only the most convenient words were used just to make sure that the rhyme worked, but perhaps they were intentional. Either way, an excellent, hilarious poem.
Hi:)
I liked your poem .the idea is good .what I like the most is the conversation between you an death .It is so fantastic .
I wish you good luck with the next poem .
Thanks!
I am glad you liked it
This was a very bouncy-fun poem to read! I loved everything!

Death said, “In order to be free,
I would have something to lose,”
These lines are kind of confusing, because we don't really know who is talking right here. Is it Death or the narrator?
Possibly you could reword this differently, this is a very good poem though! I enjoyed reading it!
Keep writing
