Because Of You

Because of you
I’ve got no name
I dislike my front name
I know it means beautiful
But I know the story
It makes me ashamed
Plus you gave it to me

Because of you
I’ve got to fear PE
I have to wear a T-shirt
That will reveal
Every painful scar
I put there myself
You made me do it

Because of you
I’d rather be dead
Than go home
I have to fear
Your eyes
They are just a memory
And yet I’m living with you

Because of you
I’m faking each smile
Every joke
None of them from my heart
I studied the art of acting
Became a master
When I was only a child

Because of you
I blame myself
For the same
They put on me
I wasn’t guilty
But you told me so
So I said that was the truth

Because of you
I cry so hard
Never having comfort
In my life
Not even as a baby
And it was you
Causing the tears

Because of you
I don’t know my dad
It was your choice
You always say
You did it for me
Then why does it hurt
And why did you lie

Because of you
My heart cramps
When I hear
Of a perfect family
It was all I wanted
Just for one day
You deprived me of that

This is good. I think people who come from tough homes can relate to this. Or from an abusive relationship. I know that 2yrs ago this poem would express me perfectly. So good job.

We always talk about the "doers" and "dreamers" but I'd like to give a big shoutout to the "tryers".
