There is something about your eyes

Like a notion of artistic mastery,

That makes me want to reach out and touch,

But I know I shouldn’t

As I am the mere admirer in the gallery of your anatomy.

You, my dear

Are a not a masterpiece.

But a collection of many.

Da Vinci painted your smile.

Beethoven composed your voice,

And Shakespeare wrote your script.

You silence the critics.

All but one,

Yourself.

This is lovely. I really loved when you said, "You, my dear Are not a masterpiece But a collection of many." I just love how it doesn't represent the being as one thing that you love, but representing them as all of their different qualities. Beautiful.

I really enjoyed both the content of this poem and its theme. Especially in this day and age. I really liked your art imagery as I haven't really seen it before.

I really love interesting word choice like which you produced to us here. Things lik 'notion of artistic mastery' which is just a stunning line. By having it near the start of your poem you also packed a nice and beautiful punch for readers. I also liked 'gallery of your anatomy', mainly because my sister has a strong passion for drawing and whenever I think of the word anatomy it always brings me back to her drawings. So little words like that paint a very unique and interesting image.

You, my dear

Are a not a masterpiece.

But a collection of many.

If I am being totally honest I found these few lines to be a tad on the cheese side but I love cheese so I'm not complaining. It's rather romantic and sappy so the artistic style of the poems words are thrown away slightly but you get back on track with the next part in your poem.

Are a not a masterpiece.

But a collection of many.

Da Vinci painted your smile.

Beethoven composed melodies,

And Shakespeare wrote your script.

Again the artistic imagery and word choice is melded into this wonderful poem. The usage of the famous artiest is a very good choice.

Then there was your ending. God, I loved that ending.

You silence the critics.

All but one,

Yourself.

Sure, themes such as this as been done many times before so it isn't something totally original. However, the way you started and how you dealt which such themes is what makes this an original idea.

I loved this poem, it was great and very uplifting.

Thanks for the review, it really helps!

This is a very nice poem!
I enjoy how you incorporated different forms of art and started broad and slowly specified. It's nice to start big and end small and personal.

It's also nice how you contributed in the idea of low self esteem, doubt, and self-criticism. Not everyone is particularly confident. This is also a great confidence booster.

My only critique is "Beethoven composed melodies". This is not direct towards the reader and cannot be pinpointed like Shakespeare or Da Vinci. Just connect this to the audience and everything will make more sense!

Thanks and yeah I see what you mean about the Beethoven things, it was originally "your voice" not sure why I changed it.

This is wonderful! Enjoyed it very much to read, I especially liked the comparisons with famous artists in music, literature, and art.
