Dead Dawn: Red Roses

 Dead Dawn is a place where creatures of the darkness like vampire's, shape shifter, witches and other creatures of darkness  I've lived half of my life with my father, step mother and my siblings over the years I've been put into the shadows never to talk I'm a Duchess  but my sister is a Princess. My father never really talked to me my oldest brother said that my father didn't  even came and see me when I was in the hospital he didn't even hold me my mother had said to me when I was five your special in your own way no matter what people say . And I believed her. So I never had a father figure my oldest brother was kind of a father figure to me. Oh yeah  my name is Raska Polaroid I'm sixteen, I also don't know if I love my best friend or not, my sister hates me, Oh yeah and I'm a shape shifter.

 Hey no one said that being a teenager was ever easy.

 My hair whipped my face like a thousand jelly fish but I didn't care I needed to get out of here, my eyes had started to sting like there's was no tomorrow. I kept running until I ran out of breath and stopped to catch my breath but as soon as I heard footsteps I started to ran again they were so close I had to get away I just had to keep moving no matter what I can't turn around they might be close behind. I was almost out of breath again until I came across a rundown old building so I decided to hide inside I found some broken stairs and hid under them I watched the door to see if they would ever came in. They finally did I tried not to make a sound I heard a males voice "the Mistress wants her alive so hurry up and found her" I heard them turning over furniture to found me then I heard footsteps behind when I turned around to see who was there, it was too late. The men seized my throat I tried to get out of his grasp but it was to firm I was losing breath and quick then he yelled out to his little group “I found her and she’s putting up a bit of a fight” his friends bolted into the room “put her down now!”  We all turned to see who standing in the door, my mouth flung open because of who I saw.

The beginning

 Sitting at the table with my family for dinner it was really quiet all I could hear was my family eating as soon as I finished I stood up and excused myself from the table my father had never loved me because he didn’t want another girl they had Lirana my father had been having an affair with another women my step mum, my mum had died when the triplets were born then a few weeks later he married my step mother. I opened my door then slammed it shut I wanted to so badly to hit my father I hated him so much. I lifted up a picture that had off my bedside it was picture of me and my best friend Hunter or you can call him by his  first name it’s Cameron but his friends call him hunter. I put it back up on my bedside his about Harry’s age my oldest brother is eighteen this year and I will be seventeen. I sat on my bed then a sudden knock snapped me out of my day dreaming “Raska are you in there honey” great my step mother is at the door “yeah what do you want Danielle” I heard my bedroom door open behind and I heard my step mums voice again “I understand you’ve hated your father since I came into this house but you have to understand I’m staying I’m sorry if you hate me that much” she sat down next to me. “This isn’t about me is it" I looked up at him "no it's not I just hate my father but I like you" that put a smile on her face then she said "I like you too why don't we go shopping together for new clothes?" I nodded my head she stood up "we'll do it tomorrow" she then left my room.

 The next morning Danielle took me shopping to get some new clothing. Danielle chose some dresses that I actually did like "why are you doing this for me Danielle?" I picked up a dress without looking at her but she was silent then she finally spoke "because you’re like a daughter to me" I couldn't believe it I hadn't been ticking her like a mother but she said I was like a daughter to her I didn't say anything but at that moment I saw the dress I wanted "Danielle I found The dress I want for that party night" she followed me to the dress I was pointing at  "it's beautiful Raska."

 Later that day we returned home when we entered Father and Lirana were sitting on the couch as soon as they saw us they stood up "Danielle, Raska have you been , doesn't matter" Danielle moved towards my father "honey what's the matter?" She put her hand on his shoulder and his hand went on top of her hand "The Prince of Vampires has to found a wife before he turns nineteen and his chosen Lirana"  Danielle looked at my father again "that’s great but why do you  sound so upset?" My father for once looked into my eye's "because they want Raska as well they want to see who will be stable to be the princes wife" My mouth dropped opened I can't believe it they want me to maybe get married to the prince of vampires " I can't marry him…" They all looked up at me "you have no say in the matter daughter” daughter? Well that's a first "I can't marry him because his my best friend Lirana can marry him" and it was true Hunter is my best friend "well as a Princess I mean Duchess it's your duty I'm sorry" he did it again he called me a princess this time though.  I looked away from his face and said " Fine but doesn't mean I have to like it " I turned and ran to my room when I reached it I slammed my door and though myself onto my bed and cried myself to sleep.

  The day came for the party Danielle helped me get ready Lirana had got pro's to do hers. Danielle let my hair out my hair was half way down my back Danielle curled it for me then pinned the sides so it didn't go into my face.  I slipped my dress on that I had bought it was silky sky blue  it's  long that it flows a few feet behind me, it had long sleeves that at the fingers it cut into a half diamond and it was just of the shoulders. The finished touch was my gold Ivy Tiara "Raska I found this in a box it's for you" I took it off her and opened it, in side was a Ivy necklace and matching earrings inside the box with them was a letter I opened it and read it out loud

                      Dear Raska

My dear daughter happy sixteenth I didn't know if I was going to give

This to you but your mother would have wanted it, if you got this after your

Sixteenth I'm sorry. I bought this when you born I'm glad your my daughter

but you'll always be my little angel I'm sorry

If I'm always tough but you'll always be a princess

               Love your father

After I read it I felt like bursting into tears so he did care about me "do you want me to put it on for you, Raska" I looked at the necklace then said "no I know who can" I stood up and bolted down stairs to the lounge room and father if he truly loves me when I hit the last step I started to yell fathers name " Father, Father!!" when I made it to the lounge room Father was looking at me " Raska stop your yelling" I moved towards him with the box "is this from you?" he looked at the box I was holding then said "yes" I handed him the box "can you help me put them on?" I think I saw a smile "of course" I smiled and gave him a hug I think I surprised him but I'll tell you this I surprised myself  I looked up at his face and he was smiling "I'm so sorry I've never realized that your so much like your mother can you ever forgive an old fool?" My smile widened t hen I said "of course father and you’re not an old fool you’re a young fool"  we both laughed then Fathers assistant walked in " your highness everyone is seated and waiting for you to enter the Grand ballroom" I choose the Grand ballroom  because it was mothers favourite place in the palace and also because it's huge "of course and make room on the dance floor for my daughter Raska and me to dance please" Father winked at me then we walked over to the French doors that lead out to the Grand ball room  "I want Raska on my right and Lirana on the left that means she's next to Danielle" Lirana was waiting at the door and she didn't look impressed that she had to stand next to Danielle then I realized that Father hadn't put my necklace on me yet "Father--" but it was too late we started to walked out  to the gardens  Father sat Lirana on his left and me on his right when we sat sown usually I'm standing then the Hunter family walked in. They bowed to us then sat down on their thrones all the way on the other side. And the party began.

"Can we get Princess Raska and the king to dance" is what we heard from the assistant my Father stood up and stretched his hand out for me to take and I did he took me out to the middle of dance floor but before we started to dance he fastened my necklace on then he made me put the earring's on, then we started to dance. Other people were getting up and dancing. Then someone touched him on the shoulder he turned to see who it was, it was Hunter “can I have a dance?"  Father smiled and bowed and Hunter did the same then Hunter took my hand and we were dancing. We stopped dancing and we walked out to the Royal Garden it was quiet until Hunter spoke  "you get more beautiful every time I see you" I looked up at him and said "you haven't seen me for at least five years" he nodded his head and added "I thought your father and you didn't get along?" I laughed "long story also funny" I heard him snicker we sat under a giant tree it was beautiful day today. "Hunter do you miss the old days?" I felt his eyes on me "of course I miss the old days I wish they could happen again" I looked up at him and he was looking at me I think I'm falling for him I liked it when his Blondie brown hair shines in the sunlight and I loved his sapphire eyes, all but the height he was 6.0 and I was 5.8.

Hunter leaned down to my face his lips so close if one of us were to speak our lips would touch but it was me who moved so that our lips touched, he wrapped his arms around me and pulled me close to him he was so warm I never want to leave this embrace. Suddenly we heard a noise, we both pulled from each just in case it's my dad. I was right it was my dad, "what are you two doing all the way back here the party is back that way?" He pointed in the way of the party was Hunter was the  first to speak "we were getting some air your Highness" Father rolled his eyes then said "may I steal my daughter?" Hunter stood up "yeah you can have her she's a trouble maker" he gave me a wink then walked off. Father took my hand and made me walk back to the party I watched Father as he walked over to Hunter they then walked back into the house on the way they picked up his parents. One of Fathers assistant's gave me some wine I walked towards one of my friends, but Rosa (one of fathers assistants) "Duchess  your Father would like to see you in the lounge room" she made me follow her to the lounge room Father was standing up next to couch usually sitting Father was the first person to speak "now that were all here can you tell us who you've chosen for your son" Hunter stood up and spoke "my parents said it was my choose" he walked towards me and my sister Lirana. Lirana sat forward "Raska will you marry me?" I think I heard Lirana fall of the couch "I… I'm really speechless " I looked up at his face so that I could figure out if I should marry him, his sapphire eyes sparkled as he waited for a answer I looked over at Father for some help. But when I looked over at Lirana she gave look of displeased look. I closed my eyes for a second then I opened them again "I'll… Marry you" I gave him a quick smile then hugged him. And the rest of the night was a blur.
