Chippa

With his graceful complexion
The tailwagger walks.
This magestic canine!
The king of all beasts!
With his nose held up high,
He strolls through the streets,
And all the dogs around him
Are but pitiful puppies
Whimpering under his paws.

I really like this piece. I'm guessing it is about a dog? The rythym of this is very well crafted. Your word choices are quite good, I particularly like the first line. It sounds really good. My favourite part, however, was the end:
And all the dogs around him
Are but pitiful puppies
Whimpering under his paws.
This part is brilliant, because it sums up the poem completely.
I do agree with dogs, as the word "beneath" certainly sounds better than "under".
Apart from that, well done!

Hello there Llama! Dogs here with your review again today! And once again WELCOME TO YWS! Let me know if you need any reviews or help with anything! I'd be more than happy to comply :). I really like this poem, it's short, sweet, and to the point. Personally, I'm a huge fan of this piece because as you could probably guess... I LOVE DOGS! This king dog sounds like a pretty cool kid, and I'd love to meet him someday :). Anywho, on to ze review! I think the only note that I would give to you is that you need a tad bit more description in some places. Let's dive in now shall we?

"The tailwagger walks."

One quick note here, I think you could choose a stronger word instead of "walks." After all, this is the king of canines! I'm sure he will stroll with pride and saunter confidently. Focus a little bit on that bit of your poem.

You also start on the line: "With his graceful complexion," but you never return to this bit of information. I want to see you develop that idea of "graceful complexion." What does it look like? What does it feel like? How does this make him the "king of all beasts."

We as the reader understand that this Chippa is the king of all beasts, but we're not sure why. Try to develop and expand upon that. Is it his attitude that makes the king? His complexion, his powerful paws? What? Answer that question and this piece will be on the right track.

"Whimpering under his paws."

Minor nitpicky note, but I suggest that yo use "beneath" instead of "under" in this line. It just sounds smoother. All and all this was an excellent piece with some wonderful writing, I enjoyed reading your poetry :). Let me know if you ever need a review. Keep up the good work!

This is a very good poem , I love the rhythm. It makes sense and the story telling is beautiful. But if I can add something, there is a part which could be even better , at some point you say :

"The tailwagger walks.

This magestic canine !

The king of all beasts "

Maybe instead of repeting "the" you could start right away with "king" which would give even more strength to the word and to the line it would go as :

"The tailwagger walks.

This magestic canines!

King of all beasts!"

Of course you're the writer and that is just my point of view but I really think it could make this line stand out .

Looking forward to your future writings :)

Hey there! So first off, I really enjoyed reading this piece. It's brevity keeps it light and rich which is great :) Nitpicking a bit, but in line 2, I can't help but feel that there could be better wording for "graceful complexion." I just imagine something delicate when you use the word graceful, but the rest of the poem seems to portray a strong, kingly figure.
Also, just a suggestion, but you can try putting the last three lines in a separate stanza for a different effect and also because you have a slightly different rhythm going on there. But I really liked reading this, thank you for sharing!

Wow, this is really simple and epic. I can totally imagine his regal, monarch-like attitude, the picture of his personality is painted quite well.
