This was a 'folk' song attempt that I came up with in a few minutes after listneing to Floggin Molly's "Float" which has become an extraordinary piece of inspiration for me in the last few days. Enjoy if you will. I know it's not metal or rock, but that's not all there is to music, right?
By the way, the song is not written as a typical song with a verse, a chorus, and a verse and Chorus, etc. It's almost the same, except the first two verses are sung togther. I'm just putting this down now so no one complains about it.
(Verse 1)
There is static on the walls
And the lights are out in the halls
Can’t say that I’m surprised
I have heard you say
There’s nothing new today
And we should give up all hope
(Verse 2)
An old man scours his hands
Leaves the house, surveys his lands
His heart as dark as a tomb
We came to the altar with lies
Finding God has cut His ties
And we wonder why…
(Chorus)
How can we live
How can we breathe
Knowing we’re the ones
Who killed this scene?
(Bridge)
I’m tired of being broken and poor
For in this life, there has to be more
How can I get back to the old days
Where the moon could be kept at bay
And the sun stayed up forever
(Chorus)
How can we live
How can we breathe
Knowing we’re the ones
Who killed this scene?

Hey Krupp!
Well, I'm not much of a review on lyrics but I liked yours. Very worldly. Have you listened to "Where is the Love" by Black Eye Peas? It is kinda like this, discussing world problems.
I like the chorus too, especially the "killing the scene" part.
Uhhh. The only thing is it is a little short. Thats all!
