This is my song of today.
of wild-eyed dreams made half-asleep
of early morning hours
giggling over best friend secrets
not caring, not thinking
to be crazy is to be cool
actions have no consequence
so we make our mark
hear the songs
sing them to the world
out car windows
for all to hear
This is my song of tomorrow.
of dreams with wings, crashing down
of friends who are fake
touching the surface
but never scratching
my initials, deep in the pavement
hearing all
telling nothing
no one wants to listen to the wind
here one moment gone the next.
This is my song of today.
to be happy and content
a friend to everyone, and everyone my friend
none mean me ill
This is my song of tomorrow.
when my mind is clear and my words seem wrong
happiness is artificial
words have no meaning with feigned enthusiasm
This is my song of today
my song of tomorrow
today, tomorrow
tomorrow, today.
today is yesterday's tomorrow
so what song will I sing?
my mind knows not
my heart knows not
my soul knows not.
so what is real?

Hey thanks so much! This is my first post...and you're my first comment EvER! So thanks for reading:)
That was just... wow. It delivers a clear messega, but you must have the heart and soul and brain to figure it out. Writers are goos at making insirational pieces, and you have done just that. It was wonderful, with a bitter sweet end, and light sort of air to it. Keep on writing, I think poetry is your true forte, Khepri. (I like that name Khepri... lovely.)
