All sound was reduced to a faint hum. Talking was slurred and quiet, horns from automobiles almost impossible to hear.
If it’s not here, where? my mind wandered.
The push accidently brought me to the cold ground, the mud from the recent rainfall covering the sleeves of the trenchcoat I was wrapped in.
“Dude, what in God’s name is your problem?”
I grabbed onto a slippery light post and using it as my crutch, legs moving out from underneath me and onto the curb, collapsing.
“Jesus christ…” hissed the man quietly, straightening his jacket.
“I apologize, I didn’t see you there, I…”
Humans were not my area of expertise. This could be harder than expected.
“Whatever. Stupid Canadians. ‘I’m sorry, I apologize.’ Watch where you’re going,” attacked the man with a jerk of the head.
The man’s long legs moved across space quickly.
“Canadian?” I asked in a whisper, still struggling to get on my feet.
My feet ached as I climbed up once more, a burning sensation spiking within my heels and toes, increasing the endless pain that is walking.
How do humans walk so long? I attempted at humor, chuckling softly at myself. The answer was quickly answered though-cars.
My mind wandered to my most cherished memories. David and Goliath, Adam and Eve, Cain and Abel. I had been in existence for a long time. I remember meeting one of the first beings of life, when one of my sisters told me that I shouldn’t play with that being, there was big plans for that being. I was curious...so I played with it.
The horrid...the…
It turns out the plans were as simple as an experiment-God’s playtoys.
Where is he?
His presence is near.
I turned, walking down the new alleyway. My fists clenched and nails digging into my Craft’s palms as I stumbled in the short passage.
The sun was setting shortly, the sky filled with pink and orange swirls and waves created not by the sun, but by my Grace at home. Aside from the beautiful sky filled with colours which provoked a positive reaction, my body tensed and my hands were made into fists. Constant yelling, the swoosh of city busses blowing through the city, cars and trucks crowding the streets blaring on their horns, ‘road raging cars’ as a female human I overheard said. I couldn’t even hear the sounds of my own footsteps throughout the solitary alleyway.
I’m closer.
I made a right, almost tripping on a fallen garbage can, contents spilling out. My feet moved forward along the the inactive path, the soft fall breeze cooling my Craft’s skin nicely. The air was quite refreshing, unlike the regular atmosphere of this mortal city.
I gagged on the stench of the unfamiliar territory, my body tensing up. The once beautiful green fields of the Earth that me and my Grace patrolled, observed and protected with our lives, have been ruined. The green grass has changed to lifeless, dull and useless concrete. Trees have been transformed into large brick and mortar buildings, used to build automobiles and shelter mortals.
Hatred.
Filth.
Since Lucifer had been imprisoned on Earth, below the fiery depths of Hell and worst, his curse of evil, manipulation and hatred must of seeped into the dirt and ground humans use to grow plants and build houses with, contaminating their lifestyle and corrupting it.The human race was peaceful and caring, and they embraced that. I had interacted with them, but since then, nothing was the same.
They now worship money, greed, and crime and embrace it as an everyday occurrence, and that much was true.
I turned down another alley of the twisting and confusing labyrinth to a new surprise. The alleyway was full of green and blue life, pots containing the colors. The garbage cans were neatly tucked behind the fire escape to the left, leaving the way towards the street open and comfortable, unlike the other alleyways. The fresh aroma of flowers and air fresheners that were strung around the pleasant path opened my nose, a fresh feeling. It seemed like someone wished to take care of this property.
The sidewalk was not so pleasant. The horrid colours of grey, black, and brown made everything seem so dull once more, my opinion unchanging. The traffic was somewhat different-inactive and slow. A few cars spotted around the street, all dull and boring colours themselves.
My face suddenly erupted in pain as I glanced up towards the sky. All noise was reduced, and I heard slight ringing within my ears. The breeze of passing cars felt closer than they actually were.
“You could say you're sorry,” hissed a woman, re-tightening her jacket and scarf, glancing down at me. My tightened my hand into a fist, but released it. I reached for the streetlight.
My jaw tightened and my chest stood straighter.
“A guardian of God does not need to say sorry for your mistake,” I replied, with a soothing and calm tone.
“What are you, some Christian freak?”
The lady made a crude gesture with her fingers. Her high heels clicking along with the other annoying sounds of Earth made me wipe the drenching sweat from my brow.
As the wind around me froze, my lungs burning to keep up, a sudden noise shook my heart. Along with a new feeling, it felt like a longing, a craving. A famish for reuniting.
My mind swerved from the thought, but the feelings still lingered, untouched from my attempt to rid myself of them.
A scream of an Angel, I knew.

All right let's begin our chapter 1 review.
You showed how he struggled in the world of men, and how he watched all over us, with his Grace, for a very long time. In addition, you also give us a visualization on how corrupted the human race were.

First of all, the first 3 paragraphs of your chapter were confusing instead of inviting (in my opinion). In the first paragraph, you were talking about something referring to what the person is hearing, which by the way is fine, but in the second paragraph, the protagonist suddenly looks for something, and in the third, it was stated that he was pushed (by whom or what or where exactly?).
I know what you're trying to do here. I think what you're trying to do was to give us readers some "feels" that your protagonist is falling or probably already fell from the sky; it's just that the supporting details for each paragraph is lacking. I think that the second paragraph could be omitted because from what I understood, the angel is currently falling somewhere between the first and the third paragraph, so I think that you should focus on that part.
Second, I think that you made a good run after the first three paragraphs.
The ending of the chapter is good as it keeps the reader's dangling with the question, "Why is he in our world?" while the protagonist longs to reunite with his heavenly companions.
We'll wait for the next chapter.
3 out of 5 stars for me.

Interesting, this reminds me a bit of the Supernatural TV show. Or at least one of the character from the show, Castiel. Have you seen it? I thought this might be fan fiction.
That being said, I am a sucker for books with angels in them fan fiction or not so I am curious to see where you will take this story.
I liked that you slipped in the bit about memories, letting the reader know just how old this character is. Like beginning of time old.
One thing I might tweak a bit on this story is the opening line.
I am all for jumping right into the story but this is more like jumping in half between the beginning and end of a paragraph. It is to confusing.
What sound? Why is there talking? Who is talking? Are we by a highway, walking main street, or on a dirt road? There are automobiles but we as your readers need just a smudge more context.
Other than that , this was a nice bit to read. Keep up it up.
