Okok so this is the second poem in my horror trilogy. It's a 'place poem' or whatever, it was originally supposed to be about a place you would like to return to and how it made you feel. I don't like following the rules when it comes to poetry and so now, I have Forbidden Love. There's a little disclaimer at the end btw. Hope you enjoy! (P.S sorry for the formatting of the first line, idk how to fix it.)
Deep in the ground, surrounded by hot, heavy air,
Dripping with sweat, my helmet light flickers.
Suddenly, the pathway in front of me becomes
alien,
As darkness seizes its chance to strike.
My breathing echoes, creating a yearning song
that only she can understand.
The wet ground squelches under my boots, and I
hope she knows I don't mean her harm.
Water splashes into puddles, from stalactites up
above, and I hear her calling out to me.
My headlight, running out of battery,
illuminates narrow cave walls, her way of touching my skin.
I place my hand upon the rough stone, to let her
know I understand.
I reach the center now, a large cavern, her
heart.
I lower myself down a sharp embankment,
Digging my fingers into the soft dirt and
begging her for strength.
My feet slip, and my breath hitches. Not yet.
Not here.
I finally reach the bottom and lay on the floor
of her heart.
I used to come here for fun, not expecting a
lover.
And when I found her, I knew it was destiny,
that I should be the only one so brave as to know her.
To love her.
And after I return this one final time, and my
darling cave claims me,
I doubt anyone will do so again.
Disclaimer: I don't like Forbidden Love as much as my other two poems. I do love it, but I feel like it could be better. Any constructive criticism is welcome!

I wasn’t scared of this poem. I saw this as a romance poem, where a man has a devoted love to nature. It is kind of creepy if you think of this man (I’m assuming the narrator is a man) as a real person falling in love with a cave. Perhaps the cave is full of evil spirits that entice him to stay, only to have him trapped there forever.
I wish you a lovely day/night.
