Why Do You Have To Be Popular?

PreviousNext

I look in the mirror that hung in my locker, my sea green eyes locking onto the person who stood behind me, Mac Jedd. His hazel eyes filling with joy as he turns to talk to Lydia. My heart sinks and my feelings are crushed. I keep looking at him. Why couldn't I be the one who filled him with joy and laughter? Was it because I'm not popular? Because I'm not as beautiful as her?

I look at his hair, a lovely golden honey. His smile is one someone can't forget. I turn around slowly, closing my locker with my back foot, pressing my books closer to my chest, my heart racing as it usually did when I saw him. He was wearing his football hoodie today, with the letters in big bold print it read 'PRINCE HIGH SCHOOL' and on the back it said 'JEDD' I smiled, I always loved it when he wore his hoodie, he wore basketball shorts as most guys always did at my school. I sigh slightly and lean against my locker, I'm love struck again.  He turns around laughing, walking past me, I could smell the sweet smell he always had. Ive always just wanted ot wrap my hands around his waste and hug him, and take in the sweet smell. His eyes locked onto Lydia. I scowled in hatered slightly, though Lydia was one of my closest friends, I was becoming very jealous.

I walk into my science classroom, sitting my books onto the desk, I look at the class board and notice that we are starting a project today. I raise my eyebrows in suspense of wanting to know what it was about. I was hoping it wasnt a project when you need a partner. I may sound lame, but I have no friends. I look down at my desk and notice there is small writing, I placed my hand over the hard glare it gave off and it slowly read 'Mac Jedd is a babe.' I snarl in disgust and erase it. I didn't want anyone to think I wrote it. The teacher interrupts my thoughts as he explains that today we will be starting a new project, one with a partner, you get to choose. I sigh, fighting the tears that are wanting to come up. No one will willingly pick me as their partner. I sit there, still as ever, I look up and Jedd is hovering over me, a slight smile spread on his face. My face flushes as I look back at him and wave slightly. He nods and sits down next to me. My heart is racing but then I noticed he turned to his other side, talking to Gracie, the girl I hate, who sat next to me in most of my classes. How dumb am I to think that a popular would willingly choose to be my partner in a project? They will only choose me so they don't have to work.

The science door creeks open, I look behind me and I see a new girl. About my height, blonde curly hair, blue eyes, and wearing preppy clothes. I sigh, noticing she is a new girl who will soon become popular. Mr.K looks at me and points her to sit next to me. I smile slightly and raise my hand, waving it slightly. We greet and she tells me her name is Cali. She smiles and looks behind me, I turn my head slightly so I can see who she's waving at. It's Mac.

from what I can tell you used good grammar, and I didn't see any spelling mistakes.
beginning of your story didn't draw me in. A lot more details its hard to get into a story when you don't enough details. your ending was really good thought.

Ah, I know I can definatly relate with this character. You did a lovely job creating a very realistc situation and making it interesting.A lot of people would make the mistake of giving this a cliche ending. But I really like how you ended this, no absolute conclusion. The only thing I'd like better is if there were a little more sensory details., but other than that its wonderful!
