garlic and salt

the last days of summer are always the most beautiful
and it’s because the air just knows that winter,
the season of burnt tongues and dry eyes
is coming and this year, winter will act
as the thief we need and suck dry the
loose daydream words that scatter like
iron ore in our minds.

i always feel better during winter because
summer burns and summer is a temptation
but winter is honest and cruel and unforgiving
and i can be me.

autumn is a peacemaker and the ghosts
begin to swirl up and out of the amber trees
and the pot holes and the back of our attics,
begin to move back to our buildings that scrape
the sky and i can taste the metal that’s been melted
into their blood.

you have locust eyes and an arson’s fingertips
and everyone around us can see the weary days
that are coming.

This was a nice little poem. I enjoyed reading it, but there are a few errors you may want to fix. The flow was nice, but it did mesh here and there, and overall made it diffcult to read a few lines.
I really did like this poem!
