My Constriction

All forms of life; all memories are
Lost in a vat of pleasant dreams.
The spring is wound so tight and bound.

In the midnight blue,
The heavy waves keep crashing
Showing no signs of surrender.

The blood drains and rushes
To a beating heart and all that’s left
Are cold and empty fingers.

It is a constant strain as if
Suspended
From a taffy puller.

And yet it pushes against
Solid metal, never heeding
To its groan of protest.

Above and beyond, a plate of glass shifts,
Something so fragile cannot twist.
It shatters and falls as if rain,
Deteriorating all thoughts.

There is nothing to rely on.
There is nothing but me;
My constriction.

Bravo. This is a really intriguing poem. Its smooth in that all of the lines begin with a capital letter. Also all of your stanzas are of the same length and flow, except for the 6th stanza which is different but i'm sure you know what your doing. I am no poetry expert and cant comment much more but in my humble opinion it was great!!! :D

I'm no poetry expert either. Writing it is so hard for me but this was an assignment so, it had to be done. Thank you so much!

What really knocks me out is a book that, when you're all done reading it, you wish the author that wrote it was a terrific friend of yours and you could call him up on the phone whenever you felt like it. That doesn't happen much, though.
