Queen Sabiah of Alsate
Chapter 1
Some people think of me as a normal 12 year old girl who is usually, if not always, left alone by her parents. But others, the ones who really know me well, think of me as Queen Sabiah of Alsate. Everyone looks up to me on the small island of Alsate that I go to everyday. My job is to resolve any conflict, and to make sure that the Alsations are peaceful and happy on the small island that we live on.
BRRRRRIIIIIIINNNNGGG! The school bell snaps me out of my thoughts. I look up at my teacher as she says, ???Class dismissed! The homework is page 31, everyone.?????? All of the kids scramble to the buses, like they usually do when school???s out for the day. As I begin to board the bus, others bump into me and shove me just like I am not visible. Luckily, I am the first stop.?? When the bus stops by the apartment building that I live in, I sprint all the way up to the second floor, because we have no elevator. I walk into the small place that I live in, and see a note scribbled on the refrigerator. It???s from my mom.
??
Dear Sabiah we will be gone for the next two weeks. You will have a break from school and if you need anything at all just ask misses Mckennley next door
-Mom and Dad
??
I had almost forgotten about the break from school. They were temporarily closing for reconstruction.
???I am alone????????? I say in wonder to myself. I am usually alone, but now with no distractions like school or weekends spent with my parents.
??
I run into my room and close the door behind me. I am humming as I walk over to my crystal ball. Inside, I imagine Alsate, and an image appears. My people are arguing in the conflict meeting place. ???Oh, no????????? I mutter to no one in particular. I place both hands on the crystal ball and find myself in Alsate immediately. People silence out of respect and I speak. ???I was only gone for a day! How could this have happened??????? I am shocked at the Alsations.
A small boy and his friend speak out in the silenced crowd.
???We found a bag of coins, and we don???t know who it belongs to!??? Samuel Boykevich says.
???It belongs to me!!??? someone yells out. ???No, No, their liars! It???s mine!!!??? someone else shouts. The people start arguing again.
???Stop!??? I say. ???Don???t be so selfish! We will use it for everyone. It can be used for good purposes. ??
Samuel brings it up to the me. ???Thank you,?????? I whisper in his ear as he hands me the bag. He smiles back at me.
The people are all very satisfied. As usual, I have succeeded in making all the people happy.

Chapter 2
that morning I woke up and sat at my crystal ball. I felt like I was going to see something bad in there. I looked into the crystal. An image started to form, and got more vivid as I concentrated harder. I tilted my head, trying to find out what was going on. Something snapped and I understood. There was a traitor amongst us! Trying not to panic, I went to Alsate right then. My crystal ball takes me to the place where there is the most trouble. I look around, wondering why I am in the kitchen. I start to smell smoke, and I realize that there are no chefs in the building! I must put the fire out in order to save the entire island! What can I do? I need to think fast. I look around.
Zephane, the guard is standing at the door! "Zephane!" I scream, panicked. Flames now surround me in a ring of fire. The long hem of my dress had almost caught, sitting dangerously close to the intense blaze of flames. I remembered the dragon that the queen before me, Queen Razilee, had passed down to me. "Zephane! I need-" He was already gone. I look down and scream. The hem of my dress has caught! I have no chance; I surrender to the fallen light pole from the ceiling.

Chapter 3
I woke up the next morning in our small medical firm, my head hurting. I feel numb everywhere. The head doctor, Deuce is standing over me. ???Don???t worry, Sabiah. You???ll be fine.??? I think that I nodded. I like Deuce. He is my favorite doctor. He is the only one who doesn???t call me, ???your highness, or ???queen??? or something like that. It???s not that I don???t love being Alsate???s youngest queen ever; I just don???t want to be reminded of my duties when I am injured. I also like Deuce because he can heal someone three times faster than most of the others. ???You???ll be out in a day,??? he adds reassuringly.
I try to speak. ???is???is Rezzie ok??????? I renamed my dragon Rezzie because when I was little, before I was queen, and parents were around more, I used to dream of a dog. And I used to tell my dad that I would name it Rezzie. And because I wanted it to be the name I secretly called Queen Razilee in private before she passed away, in memory of how much she meant to me.
???She saved you from the fire, Sabiah. She was a hero.??? He said like he was about to burst into tears.
???What do you mean ???was??????? I demand. Deuce gulps. ???We will talk later. Right now there is a guest waiting to talk to you,??? He says grimly.
My friend, Fade walks into the room. She looks troubled. I brace myself for bad news, because she isn???t the type to sugarcoat or hold back on the worst.
???Sabiah?????? she whispers softly. Deuce isn???t going to eavesdrop, so he goes into his office.
???Sabiah???Do you know how the fire started???? She is about to burst into tears. ???Of course,??? I reply. ???There was a kitchen fire. No one???s fault.???
???Well, Sabiah! There was nobody in the castle except for the guard, Zephane and Rezzie?????? tears streamed down her face. ???And this morning, I went to check on the castle, and I talked to Zephane, he said that Rezzie???s?????? gone.??? She cringed at the word ???gone.???
???No???that can???t be true, she was the toughest dragon that I knew??????
???But it is true, Sabiah!???
I will not cry. I will not cry. I will do anything but cry in front of Fade. I won???t cry in front of anyone. My best friend is still weeping when she is pulled out of the room by Deuce. I feel empty inside. I feel like I have a hole and I need Rezzie to come back to life and save me. I want something from Queen Razilee, something to remind me that I can get through anything. And now the only one that could do that, Rezzie, is gone. Forever.
I look around the room, and nobody is there. My eyes release the tears they???ve been holding back for that long. ????
