The Rebel Inside Me...

No...no...no...no,
I won't follow their rules anymore,
I hate the mask they've created,
To cover the real me.

It's the society, it's all their fault,
That I have to act my life out.
That I have to hide myself,
From the rest of the world.

Their rules,
Their talks,
Their shouts,
Their looks,
Destroyed me.

Chorus: They buried my soul,
Deep into me.
They decided,
Who I will be.
They've got my whole life,
Planned out for me.
But I don't want,
To be the good girl anymore.
I'll scream and shout.
I'll tear the mask apart,
And unleash the Rebel inside me.

It's me I'm that Rebel,
I'm trying to break through,
I want to be me once again,
And forever.

I will show them,
I will show the society,
My face, my face,
The one they tried,
So hard to cover up.
And that will be my sweet revenge,
The one I've been waiting for,
My whole life.

Chorus: They buried my soul,
Deep into me.
They decided,
Who I will be.
They've got my whole life,
Planned out for me.
But I don't want,
To be the good girl anymore.
I'll scream and shout.
I'll tear the mask apart,
And unleash the Rebel inside me.

I won't let them,
Change me again.
I'm not the vulnerable,
Girl I used to be.
I'll stand up for myself
I won't let them hurt me again.

I'll live my life,
The way I want to.
I won't listen to their crap anymore,
I'll throw the rules behind me.

Chorus: They buried my soul,
Deep into me.
They decided,
Who I will be.
They've got my whole life,
Planned out for me.
But I don't want,
To be the good girl anymore.
I'll scream and shout.
I'll tear the mask apart,
And unleash the Rebel inside me.

Their rules,
Their talks,
Their shouts,
Their looks,
Mean nothing to me now.
I'll fight them.
I'll fight the society,
Until they stop doing it.

And I'll once again be,
The funny,
Mad,
Rebel,
That was hidden inside me.

No...No...No...I won't follow them anymore.
I'm once again me.
The one that they tried to hide for so long.

I'll unleash the Rebel inside me.
(I'll scream and shout)

I'll unleash the Rebel inside me.
(I'll scream and shout)

Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, I'll once again be me...

Aside from the chorus, nothing was consistent. Also, a lot of the lines struck me as too short, and there were a lot of rhymes that appeared and disappeared at random. Honestly, I'm left wondering why you submitted this into lyrics since there's no clear and repeating structure between each of the verses. This probably would fit better in one of the poetry forums.

As far as the subject goes, it struck me as pretty unoriginal, and you didn't do anything creative with it. There's nothing that makes this piece stand out among all the others that deal with this same subject.

This was good. Just a few little nitpicks. First is that you don't really need to label every verse, and I don't think you even really need to label the chorus.

Two other things I noticed were with structure. You don't really have a rhyme scheme. Now, you don't need one, but it seemed like you were trying to rhyme in certain places, but you didn't in others, and it made it very hard to read. Also, the length of your lines and verses was very inconsistent. You should try to make each verse about the same amount of lines, and each line should be about the same length. Also, some of your lines were very short. Now, I understand what you were trying to do, but one word lines make a work hard to read. I would just combine some of the lines.

This was good, it just needs a little work.

So, please, oh please, we beg, we pray, go throw your TV set away, and in its place you can install a lovely bookcase on the wall.
