E - Everyone

In stuff

PreviousNext
Friend is an innocent word,
Even pleasant.
It's said to hold value beyond sentiment.
Some say it's even magic.

But from your lips,
It's poison.
A broken promise of a lover.
A vitriolic strategy.

It erases a connection,
So you can try rebuild another.
It calls the past into question,
And yet, you use it so easily.

It's as if you always meant it for me,
The way "Friend" rolls off your tongue.
And now it is a constant confirmation,
That you were stringing me along.

But now, I guess the joke's on you.
Along with the deep sting of rejection.
You too know the meaning of "Friend"
When it denies you the hope of affection.

Liked this one a lot. Kind of goes through the different ways the word friend can be used for good and for other. Poison was a really good way of describing the word.

I loved this! It speaks so many truths. The vocabulary drew me in and I wanted there to be more! I loved the layout of this. I think its well spoken! I thought it was very interesting! It was emotional but amazing! One word would be astounding! It has amazing rhythm! I loved it and one of the best poems I have read! :-) Xbox

Hey there my fellow writing friend! It's blimeylimey217 here to review! :D

First of all, I really enjoyed this poem! One of my favorite aspects of it was the drastic change between the first stanza and second stanza. The first usage of "friend" was sweet and gentle. Then, in the second stanza, suddenly the word "friend" meant something totally different! I really liked that!

Secondly, your style of writing was very interesting! Even thought there was no rhyming, your writing had excellent rhythm! Good job!

Thirdly, your vocabulary drew me in! You had a nice vocabulary with enough description, but not too much! Excellent job!

To sum myself up, I really enjoyed this poem! It drew me into an emotional circus! Great job! I look forward to reading more of your works!

Keep writing!

A well written poem :)

I loved the last stanza the most.
I found a few lines confusing to me, I read through again to make things clear.
Your poem has a hint of mystery, which gives the reader to consider the interpretations of his/her choice and thats interesting.

Keep writing :)

Oh my goodness I love this poem!!
It is so full of emotions that I want to punch someone for you. XD Ive found myself in situations like this so many times, its laughable. I love your word style and structure.

It's as if you always meant it for me,
The way "Friend" rolls off your tongue.
And now it is a constant confirmation,
That you were stringing me along.

This stanza, along with the last one are my favorite.Your poem has a great message.
