Wheels Of The World

PreviousNext

In tall grass that waved, a light breeze blew over two bodies which lay intwined, a man and woman. Both creations, the sum and answer of a progression, a process repeated throughout this worlds known history. Bodies all round moulded and shaped too, with voices to tell stories. Whispering, Isaac parted with his words, and spoke these softly into Sasha's ear.

"So now I lay, but not for long".

The hairs on the back of her neck rose and pimples raced across her skin which sat exposed. Isaac began to rise from the position he had been in moments before, in one smooth movement with his eyes unwavering he looked outward and into the distance, searching the horizon and it's lines. His tone changed what had felt sweet to Sasha now changed to something more stern - looking strong and masculine he now stood on his feet.

"Let us begin this endless journey, into an eternity lost, for I no longer know what it is to be alive, I am numb with these feelings".

Sasha gazed past Isaac, the hairs that had stood to attention now settled peacefully - her mind was somewhere else so into the above she stared, paralysed with the pleasure that gripped her body. She then recounted painfully the fleeting instances that had been before, mind at one with soul, she knew these scars could be overcome. Around them the waves could be heard breaking and the call of sea birds echoed. Raindrops began to fall gently, the atmosphere marinated by the light pitter patter of water on rock and earth. Isaac turned to face away from Sasha. She was now sat upright, earthly senses returning, coming to. Her eyes traced the water droplets that had started to roll down Isaac's spine and she felt a shiver as the cooler sea breeze caressed her bare skin. Again Isaac spoke...

"The future, both our past and present now make sense. No matter the tense, there are always ways. Step out of the dark, walk into the light to see your soul".

Looking into the distance Isaac seemed at peace, his body relaxed. Sasha began to rise and edged closer towards her partner who now stood at the top of the rock face. What lay behind them, around and further beneath, what did it matter? The shrill and sharp sounds of gulls, the growing storm further out at sea; set the scene. Now side by side, naked honesty defined them against the land-scape, the pale outline of Isaac's body at subtle contrast with his dark features and the complexion of Sasha. Their finger tips barely touched but the bond between them reverberated strong. What they had seen and experienced, none of it mattered, or would shortly.

Breathing controlled, bodies both calm, they embraced. The dark elusive eyes of Isaac traced Sasha's emerald features. This life at this moment - was made up of the sting salt and familiar smell of recently wetted grass, they leapt and they fell fast with streamlined smiles.

"We now fall from this earthly existence. Into darkness and mystery or do we? Could we now climb into another existence, into the light and knowledge".

Where blackness should've been only light remained. As Isaac and Sasha hit the water; it was not the end. Where cold icy concrete should have smashed against them, rock upon bone and crimson explosions, they were met instead with a warm embrace. One, in another light might call it's touch, home. Rather than closing the door behind them, to shelter from the rain, they had embraced it.

Sounds and the vibrations that made them echoed all around. The touch of the unknown gripped Sasha and Isaac, both throats now bent like the mind, words they heard but could not utter. It was the fear of what was to become that held them. Stomachs spanned like this deep chasm they found themselves in, their limbs were torn and hearts were worn till only fragments remained - yet they were still the man and woman who had jumped.

This is really good! Although, as kaitlynnbrown21 said, I'm not totally sure what is happening. The wording is pretty good, and your vocabulary is obviously fantastic. Reading further towards the end, I'm getting a sense that they jumped off a cliff to their deaths? Or is it emphasizing their deaths? Like I said, this is wonderfully written, I just have that slight confusion with the ending. The imagery created because of the sensory details, is wonderful by the way. I love to be able to visualize what I'm reading, and I was able to here, in fact I very well could've been there! Good job with this piece :)

Are you naturally this good at writing? It's really good but I'm a little unsure of what exactly is happening here. The story is very romanticized which i like, but its so unclear it's frustrating. In the middle I got the impression they were dying and this was their departure from earth to heaven but at the end it kinda sounded like they were cliff jumping. Perhaps i just missed the obvious parts. I did enjoy reading it though!
