In Things I'm Not Finishing

PreviousNext

Note: "Oddball Objects" is a series that I will be doing whenever I want to post something but don't know what. I will close my eyes in the room I am in and open my eyes; the first item my eyes lock on I will have to either write a poem about or personify it. And today's object is... the table! Okay. Let's do this.

Table,

are you always standing?

~

Table,

do you ever fall?

~

Table,

do you ever wander?

~

Table,

do the chairs annoy you?

~

Table,

do you listen when I speak with family?

~

Table,

do you ever wonder why we eat on you?

~

Table,

are you always watching?

... With that last one, have fun with your table-nightmares. I wanted to spice things up a bit. It gets boring asking what ANYONE would ask a table if they could reply. So why not pose the table as a stalker? LOlololololOLOlololOLol.

Hello! herby here for a review!
First of all, I really like your new idea for a series. Have you got any others like it out yet? I would love to read them.
I really like the set-up of this poem, how you address every stanza "Table," is really cute. The questions you ask the table are good, too.
I also like the spacing on this. I like how you put one of those little swirly things (~) in between each stanza. It makes the poem seem more proffessional to me.
Over all, good job. I didn't see any mistakes.
Thanks for the read,
herby

Thank you so much for the review! I appreciate the compliments!

Hello Em101cats! CHRISSY321 here with a good 'random' review! XD
*Happy Review Day!* :D

This is very random indeed, is this supposed to be a poem or statements?I am just curious because yeah, the idea is funny, but it may not always work. This idea could have turned into more than it is! You could have wrote a cute story on how the table lives, the secrets it holds, ANYTHING! I think all you basically did here was write some questions that you would want to ask- even with this you could have made it into a interview! I am not trying to be mean- but I think this has so much potential and become more! Maybe you should take one of the ideas I gave you, and try it! I would love to review that! Like I said- this idea is cool, but come up with creative ways to use it! Keep Writing! :D

Thank you very much for the review, and happy review day as well! :D :) I am going to edit this once I have the time and I will try to make it more detailed, as suggested by many! Thank you for the ideas :D ;)

Hey,

Okay, I admit I was expecting some random poorly written piece of writing. While I was reading this I was trying so hard not to laugh in the dead silence of the classroom. I read a lot of serious stuff so this was a refreshing change, and I loved it. I wish it was a bit longer for selfish reasons I admit, but also because it's a interesting concept. I love how it makes me smile and feel not as foolish for when I start talking to inanimate objects (Which admittedly happens quite a bit) My only possible nitpick would be how you chose to format this poem. I just don't think you need that much space between the lines. Anyway great little poem you have here! I enjoyed it immensely.
Sincerely,
collideascope

Thanks for the review! I appreciate it! :)

XD This is great! Hi, Em101, Cat here, reporting to review! *salutes gracelessly*

First off, I actually have nightmares like that with everything else. My dolls watching me cry when I'm upset and such. So, tables are yet another thing I can add to the list. XD

Second, I do really like this idea, but I feel like you ought to make this poem longer and more detailed. You evidently have cool ideas, so you should write really cool long poems about them! Make people even more creeped out. Make them get all weird and nervous and anxiously scootch their chairs away from their computer table in fear. You could turn this into even more of a masterpeice than it already is, I just know it. :D

Third, I have a piece of advice. I don't know how to make it so you can just do blank lines between stanzas, but I do know how to get around it. Just put a space on the lines and it'll fool the computer. That should mean you don't need those wavy lines in between stanzas any more.

Hope this review helps! :)

Your review did help! Thanks very much for the review and advice :)

To make the stanzas, you first have to do Shift Enter to make a new line. It will get rid of the space between lines. Then you can just use Enter to make a new stanza. So Shift Enter for a new line, Enter for a new stanza. Hope that helps both of you!

Ooh, thanks! I needed that! :D

Hello Em101cats,
Myjaspercat here to leave you a comment.

I think that what you have here is good idea. (I mean the Oddball Object thing.) But remember you should still make it creative. use detail and make it funny. I hope you see what I mean, you're a writer, use that skill.

Good Luck and Continue Writing. ---Myjaspercat

Thanks for the review!

In the winter months, gale storms in Svalbard can reach wind speeds of 130 km/h. Accompanied by or following snowfall, such storms can reduce visibility dramatically, more so in the winter months of the polar night. During these storms, travel is not advised.
