Once

Change moves within us
It travels across souls like clouds
whispering over an old sky.
Lies begin to turn the truth
until you can’t look anyone in the eye.

Why does one thing years ago
So strong now seem weak?
And tell me how can light
drain from shadows in dark places
which were so faithfully bright?

Children’s hands cling on
free and easy, without a point
or a life behind you to prove.
But look at your hand now, count the
friends you have. Is it so smooth?

Are they like other memories
‘which once seemed to important.’
What’s happened to you?
You’ve changed with the clouds
you’re old, you were once so new.

So don’t tell me that you love me all the time,
you may not feel the same tomorrow.
Tell me once- because once a better way.
Once is timeless, once is for always.
Once belongs to us forever; just for today.

Bravo!
That's was really good!
In the beginning I was thinking, why did you name the poem once?
Then I read on and it all fit together.
You had great examples in the poem to end to a conclusion that was great!
The end was so unexpected that when I finish I read it again and I loved it!
You could go farther with that poem and make it a story!
It was great! Keep writing!

Forget ragebaiting. What about happybaiting. Purposely mentioning things that my friends like to make them happy and joyous. What about that, huh
