Just something I wrote. I'm not going to reveal too much, but if you look at the setting (The part below in bold) you might be able to figure out the significance of the area. If not, don't worry. I'm going to reveal and explain it later on. So tell me yay or nay on writing more..? (BTW: I know not much happens here, but I have more planned)
SW of Bermuda, Mid-1900s
Come and play, man of the sea,
Drop what you are doing,
Dive overboard,
See the trouble that’s brewing.
Give yourself to me, man of the sea,
Let us not make this
Much harder than it has to be,
And dive into this inky abyss.
We will take your ship, man of the sea,
And break it into a million pieces,
We will kill everyone onboard, no matter if they be
Workers, mothers, brothers, or nieces.
Give yourself to me, man of the sea,
Let us not make this
Much harder than it has to be,
Death can bring absolute bliss.
The song echoed through the small room. Captain Birchwood stood absolutely still as the song ended. He didn’t know who had sung it, but it had been a girl’s voice that had sounded like a thousand angels singing perfectly together. The only problem was that there were no women aboard his ship, and no ships anywhere around them. After a minute of the song ending, Birchwood dared to move. He stepped out of his room to find all of his men standing perfectly still. All of them stared at him, looking for an explanation, only he couldn’t give one. Birchwood glided gracefully to the side of the ship and looked down into the murky depths below. It was the middle of the night, and all he could see was the water pounding on the side of his ship.
“Back to positions!” He ordered, turning around. Half of his men jumped at the sudden sound, but they did as they were told and hurried away.
Everyone stopped again when the song repeated, this time louder. The voices seemed to come from nowhere and everywhere at the same time. Near the end, there was a large splash and the sound of something solid hitting the boat’s starboard. Captain Birchwood hurried over to look, but still couldn’t see anything. Screams erupted behind him, and he turned in time to see most of his men drop dead in front of them, spears sticking out of their backs. Those still alive tried to flee, but they were struck by flying spears that seemed to come from the darkness.
“If anyone who was supposed to be on lookout survives, they won’t be livin’ much longer once I’m through with them...” Birchwood grumbled. He started in the direction of his room where he could find his weapons, but he was kicked from behind and fell on his face, the tip of a spear resting on his upper back. Birchwood managed to turn his head enough to see his attacker.
It was a girl the height of a full grown man with long golden hair. Her clothes were ripped and completely ruined, and she was soaking from head to toe. Her left foot, which she put on Birchwood’s back to steady him, was barely recognisable as a foot. She was disfigured and horrible, but her face was gorgeous.
She opened her mouth and sang the first verse of the song, except her voice was rough and unpleasant. When she finished the verse, her lips curved into a smile and a long snake-like tongue slithered out of the corner of her mouth.
And with that, she drove the spear deep into the Captain’s chest, ending his life.

Hey,
.
I thought this was very well written. I loved how you started off with a song and left everyone wondering. Awesome
I think you should continue writing and it is definitely a yay for me! I'll have to read your continuation. I also love the way you ended the Prologue because it left an empty feeling and I'm curious to know what happens next. Great job
Just to clear this up for everyone, that freaky blond girl isn't the new main character. How it's going to play out is that the next chapters happen sixty years into the future. The prologue doesn't actually mean anything until much later.
Just thought I'd let everyone know :)
Wow. This is really great. I want to keep reading, I found it exciting and I want to find the next part and just read it. I'm not going to go and nit-pick this, but is the woman going to turn out to be the main character, not the Captain? hmm...exciting twist.
If you decide to continue this, please message me, I loved it
Wow.

Hi there. This piece was really good. It seems more like a short story to me though. I don't see how you can continue it unless the story's about the woman who attacked the ship. I thought the captain was the main character, but since there's a continuation.. I guess I was wrong.
Unless he becomes a ghost or something. Ah, don't mind me. I'm just thinking aloud.
Anyway, there're no mistakes as far as I can see.
This was very well done. It's a yay for me. Please write more.
PM me if/when you get the next part out. I'd love to read it.
Keep writing!
