Don’t. Do not read this. It means a lot to me that you’ve found this page, but go no further unless you’ve got connections to a powerful priest, rabbi, imam, monk, whatever, just, stay away. I don’t know if or how this can spread. I just… I really have to get this off of my chest while I have time. I need to tell whoever’ll listen what actually happened. Someone has to end this.
Reader. You’re still reading. Whatever happens after this point, you cannot blame me for it. I warned you. You’ve one last chance. Leave while you can, before you learn what you were never supposed to find out, before It can reach you through my words.
No? You wish to stay and find out? Alright, you’re reading at your own peril now.
Was she dead?
That was the first thought I remembered having in a long time that day. I’d been gazing at the machete dripping with the blood which could have only belonged to the girl in front of me. I just kept staring at the little steel object clenched in my hands, unable to form any coherent thoughts.
Had I done this? Was this really, truly my doing? I couldn’t remember. I couldn’t remember… Anything at all. All my senses felt clogged, unusable. Static hummed in my ears, my fingers throbbed with excitement against a metallic blade I could not feel. My vision faded and blurred, as if I were viewing the world through a fish tank. I knew, by some incredibly powerful thought lodged firmly in my head, that I was breathing, that my internal organs were all functioning alright, but nothing else seemed to work. There I stood, transfixed, with a huge force pressing down on my shoulders, as the bloody pulp in front of me twitched and slowly drained of blood.
My thoughts were racing at an alarming rate. Who was she? Had I done this? Why couldn’t I move?! What had happened to me? Where was I?
Suddenly, I snapped out of it, and my vision grew much clearer. The girl had stopped twitching.
As soon as I’d seen her stop moving, the incredible force rooting me on to the ground lifted from my shoulders, and the stench of blood and death hit me with full force.
What had I done?
I sank to my knees as I suddenly felt every single bone in my body ache and a sharp pain in my right hand, which I seemed to have sliced open on the machete. The intensity of all my senses returning to me left me dizzy and disoriented, and I closed my eyes, heaving enormous breaths to steady myself, which was a bad idea.
Only after retching and heaving out whatever bile I had in my body, could I bring myself to look at the body. My stomach twisted even more after looking at her.
She couldn’t have been more than 12 years old, about the same age as one of my students. Her long, fair hair was dyed red with her own blood, which still kept trickling out of a massive gash in her throat. She was still in a school uniform, which was also drenched with blood.
I’d done this, how had I done it?
I didn’t know her, this was the first time I’d seen her. God, how I wished I’d never seen her. How could I have done this to a little girl like this? And how had my senses just… Just evaporated and came back like that? Could this be some sort of manic attack, a bout of lunacy?
Before you start wondering, no it was nothing of the sort. I was quite sane.
I peered around my surroundings. I seemed to be in some sort of abandoned construction, judging by the incomplete brick walls surrounding me. Beams of moonlight and light from a streetlamp entered the room through the windows, letting me distinguish whatever was around me, which was basically just broken bricks and stone stairs in a corner, fairly clearly. It was also eerily quiet. Too quiet for the city.
Where was I?
I walked to the window and peered out. There was nothing. I was in a three story high apartment which had been left unfinished in the middle of nowhere. A shabby, disused dirt road continued all through my field of vision which wasn’t very large, but still. It didn’t take a genius to realize it didn’t end right outside my field of vision. Apart from that, unkempt, overgrown grass, and a brilliant mass of stars in the sky, there was nothing to see.
My heart sank in fear as my stomach lurched again, threatening to send up some more bile and air.
What was going on?! How had I ended up here?! There were no car tracks –or any tracks- visible in the dirt road. The grass was undisturbed. Had I been dropped here on a parachute or something?!
I stared at my wristwatch. 2:58. I didn’t trust it much; for all I knew I could have been in an entirely different state of the USA. Or even a different country. I wouldn’t have been surprised.
I sank down in front of the wall, facing away from the corpse of the girl, hyperventilating.
How had I gotten here? What was this place? Who was responsible for this thing?! I knew for a fact that I hadn’t committed this murder by my own free will, but someone, something had forced me to. Crazy scenarios flew past my mind. Hypnosis experts. Shamans. Witch doctors. Devils.
Great, now I was scaring myself even more. I’d even started to imagine noises.
Yes, I’d quickly jumped up because I thought I’d heard a click. Well, I had heard a click, it was my watch. The clock had just struck 3.
Immediately after that, I heard another thing.
My own ear-piercing scream as the corpse of the girl flew through the air, towards me.

Top of the morning, NympheaLily here!
I just have to say that this is so capturing and so good, I want to read more. Please please please publish another one before review day, that would be excellent. I loved the imagery you used in this piece of art and I could literally see the girl covered in blood. Now, I'm a big baby when it comes to horror stuff, but this is amazing! What is a good story without a little blood and guts? And don't mention the conspiracy theories I'm going to be thinking about the rest of the day.
One note I do have is the story line moved on just a tad quick, especially at the end. Maybe consider adding a little more of a smooth transition. But that is all I have for this review and as always, KEEP THOSE FINGERS TYPING!
Ciao!

I was afraid this would turn out to be another bland horror piece after the extended warnings of "stop reading now", etc. I ignored them, however, and I'm glad I did because it got far better after those.
The amnesia-esque feel throughout is incredibly unsettling, and creates an immediate connection between the character and the reader. We both are totally unaware what's happened prior and as a result we both have to take what is coming with no preparations. The implications of madness are very interesting as well, particularly with the character's assertion that they are "quite sane". As many lunatics feel they are.
The haunted girl thing isn't original by any means, yet somehow this reads like a new piece. Perhaps it's the combination of memory loss and madness that creates the feeling. By the end, I feel led to doubt the entire narrative based on the presentation of the speaker and I'm totally fine with that. Part of the joy of weird horror for me is not having a fully neutral voice leading me through the story; an insane narrator is much more interesting.
I'm into this piece. I want to know more. At the same time, I doubt anything more I read from this narrator will be any sort of reliable. It's a great thing. Keep writing!
