The Pecking

In a world of darkness with images flashing by

Wizards, Cowboys, Racehorses, and dragons fly,

The warmness of cotton felt like a desert of sun,

Then my window opened to a sky of star none.

      Waking, tangled in my hair,

       Feeling the small, perculiar stare,

The cars and winds raced outside,

       Like a madhouse lullaby.

My eyes flutter to a close,

      Peaceful music flying throughout,

Not wanting to be under this spell of night,

Wondering if this stare was kind?

1:00 A.M. when that peck happened,

A sweet and gentle and kind "how do you do?"

Am I dreaming or is it true?

When I awoke, there was two.

I looked through the sky then papers and cups on my shelf,

There was no sigh of life as if of a ghost,

Then pecked my head again with a sign of hope-

        I yawned and arose.

Only to find, this pecker was a real of white feathered hue.

That day on a night of my friend, a new.

This was amazing!
I was visualising as I read the poem and I really could feel the magic...which is really good.
I was just wondering, the line-

A sweet and gentle and kind "how do you do?"

- Did you intentionally leave the 'h' in 'how' small or should I say it should have been in capitals?

And also, is it "sigh" of life or "sign" of life? Either way, the poem was amazing! I enjoyed it and look forward to more from you!

Okay, so, the beginning was really good,
and through out the poem i felt like i was reading it in color. . .
but through the middle and on to the end i kinda felt like you
lost grip on the meaning of the poem and just let your
imaginations drift. . . a little. Also, it was interesting and very
fun to read, but i didn't quite get it. . . this may, of course, have
been my own fault)) well,
Ta-ta, and good job!

hey there!

nice work! but you know you if would have classified this under the mystery/suspense section then it would have been more appealing. rest i liked your rhyming scheme that you took up, the words were singing for themselves in the start, even in the end. but i dunno what happened in the middle, things got very disrupted. rest its all cool.

so,

keep dreaming! keep writing!
