It’s stings at the insides of my nose
Coarse, stagnant scent
Desert(ion) of red
A place in half-empty overturned glass
My world is crimsom tinted
Alight and on fire
A Butter
F . l . y
wing-s-tipped with gasoline
Alight upon a cancerstick
‘‘I may have cried.’’What of it ?
And your nicotine hashed laughter.
Followed me home and flittered against my door
Like the butterFLY.
Although, your laughter didn’t scream while it did it
It’s not at all like the storybooks say
Where you ravish me in almost-private (secret) places
Marking me as yours
Bruised skin near my throat
It’s rather winded-breathless
All time
All dark
All night
When you’d never dream of doing anything but tasting me
And I’m enthralled by a smokey-mint tongue
That can trace my spine and leave it dry
So light is touch.
Then there are the fireflies
So bright
Like stars
You can almost believe that we really are
Floating, light and spinning
Although, do stars dance like fireflies (I wonder) ?
And then you’re off again
And can’t stop smiling.
I was not (a secret summer fling) !
The love of your life, maybe.
But If I told you that, you’d laugh/ed/.
I can hear it still, it’s nicotine hashed, and smokey mint flavoured.
Dancing in my ears like fireflies (is that how it feels to have a light inside ?)
There’s dust on the road still
And an echo of your fingers
On the skin of my palm

Hiya! oooooh...lookie lookie guys its my first review...
< something like thatIt’s stings at the insides of my nose < I almost think at is superfluous here.
Coarse, stagnant scent
Desert(ion) of red < oooh nice use of stylism, I like
A place in half-empty overturned glass < I think there should be an a in front of 'half-empty' or it should read A place in half-empty overturned glasses
My world is crimsom tinted
Alight and on fire
A Butter
F . l . y < is the y supposed to be lowercase?
wing-s-tipped with gasoline
Alight upon a cancerstick < I love this last two lines great imagery
‘‘I may have cried.’’ What of it ? < I like the spacing here, although you need a space after the ".
And your nicotine hashed laughter. < don't think you really need and here or a period/full stop.
Followed me home and flittered against my door
Like the butterFLY. < I liked how you capitalized FLY. Nice.
Although, your laughter didn’t scream while it did it < this is not very clear, I suggest revising this statement, maybe to - your laughter didn't scream but it did something like that.
It’s not at all like the storybooks say < I think this could be refrased to - it's not like the storybooks...
Where you ravish me in almost-private (secret) places < I think the words would have more impact if (secret) was attached to places or private
Marking me as yours < as seems superfluous
Bruised skin near my throat
It’s rather winded-breathless < not sure about this, maybe, winding-breathless
All time < hmm...I don't really like this, maybe you should scratch this line.
All dark
All night
When you’d never dream of doing anything but tasting me < when again, seeming superfluous
And I’m enthralled by a smokey-mint tongue [color=blue]< oooh nice....I can taste it
That can trace my spine and leave it dry
So light is touch. <<< ....shiversss....
Then there are the fireflies < then, deleted it, makes the sentance a bit wordy
So bright
Like stars
You can almost believe that we really are < almost also superfluous
Floating, light and spinning
Although, do stars dance like fireflies (I wonder) ? < I suggested something like this for a rephrase, you can even take the and out -
And then you’re off again < again also superfluous
And can’t stop smiling.
I was not (a secret summer fling) !
The love of your life, maybe.
But If I told you that, you’d laugh/ed/. < don't like the previous three lines...hmmm...they seem kind of soft, a let down it a poem of this strenght, but I do like how you wrote laugh/ed/. that was cool.
I can hear it still, it’s nicotine hashed, and smokey mint flavoured.
Dancing in my ears like fireflies (is that how it feels to have a light inside ?)
There’s dust on the road still
And an echo of your fingers
On the skin of my palm
< my suggestions on formatting on the last stanza
I really, really like the idea of Fireflies and the mosaic of light throughout the poem. Nice job. There a few, well a little more than a few, nit-picky things I've highlighted for you that I think you should look at. I really like the ending, superb flow to it.
I hope this helps.
