Random Haikus : )

unicorn farts stink

but they make me feel so high

on a july night

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

he speaks to himself

only to find no one there

just his reflection

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

the child screams wolf

soon fuzzy friends gather

none answer his call

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

music frees the soul

kills evil and heals the pain

she may even move earth

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

the man with no eyes

will never see the world’s hate

he knows only love

Time to review some haikus( *shrieks* ). One thing I have to let known is that I hate haikus, okay let's get reviewing.
Let's start with the first poem, this poem is really silly(in a good way). What is the symbolism behind July night why not may day? This poem is yet to be explained, not a very good one but it does follow the rules of haikus.
Next poem, this poem is really good, in the way that it shows good symbolism in many ways. You can see from this haiku that he is looking into mirror and thinks that it is someone alive. This is one of the classical cartoon ideas that I see a lot. This poem is a good haiku.
Right when I started the 3rd poem, I see the first sentence has 4 syllables. That means it's not a haiku(whatever, I'll let you pass). This poem also has a big truth about bystanders. Say this is about the holocaust. The Jews who are the children are screaming help because the wolves or the German are taking them away. The fuzzy friends are the bystanders or the people who aren't Jewish that live near him and don't answer his call. Another good haiku(if it were one).
Another false haiku, the last sentence is 6 syllables(even is two). This is something that I can't refer to because I don't listen to music. Again, good with the symbolism.
Last haiku, (I real one, hooray!) it could be true but in my opinion it is not. A man with no eyes and no ears knows love but one that can hear can hear the threats.
You did a wonderful job with the haikus and I would love to hear more poems(please no haikus, don't ask why I don't like them). You have good taste in what to write. Keep it going. :D

Thank you for the feedback!

Some of these didn't make any sense what so ever. I don't have anything against that! But It would have been nice if they made a little sense at least. I loved the very last one though. It makes sense and tells an important lesson about the world. I don't know much about poetry at all so I don't know what to say about format or anything. But just going off a general stand point, just capitalization errors is all. I didn't see any spelling errors. Even though some of the poems didn't make sense, I still felt like there was an important message behind most of them. Or that they meant something to you in a way that most people wouldn't just get from reading them. You know...like there's a story behind them.

Well I guess it wouldn't make sense to you, since you don't know much about poetry haha. But thank you for your comment. :)

Hey Collin.

These were interesting (better haikus than I could ever write; I've attempted them, they're not good). The first one made me laugh XD. But besides that, let's get started.

First of all, some of your haikus did not follow the 5-7-5 format. Your second line in your third haiku only had six syllables (try something like, "soon the fuzzy friends gather"), and in the second to last haiku, your last line contained six syllables (one too many), so try something like, "she may carry earth", or "she may transform earth", or even "she may move the earth".

Otherwise, I think there was a lot of depth put into some little poems. The only formatting suggestion I have is to maybe separate the haikus into a few different posts, since the haikus are all different, and some of the topics seem very jumbled.

I most enjoyed your last haiku—it was original and so compact with thought for just three lines. Please keep writing!

Best of luck,
Savvy
