“Life is black and white; it’s up to you to paint the colours”. A simple message from a simple quotation. Here, life is referring to teenagers. Teenagers as we all know have different characteristics that made them up. They will be the one to make their own will. Adolescence period is where a person’s personality or characteristics are being developed. In life, somehow, there are reasons why we have our characteristics that build us to what we are now. In teenagers, some of those reasons were the happenings in life, emotions and of course, experience, either good or bad experience. “Teamwork is just one of a multitude of life skills youths learn through sailing,” explains Ben Stuart which is an example of teen’s experience. But what kind of characteristics really relies on teenagers? Some of the typical characteristics of teenagers today are being independent, emotional and energetic.
Most of the teenagers today are independent. A big part of building independence is allowing your young teen to do things for him/herself, make his/her own decisions, and make his/her own mistakes said Ivana Pejacovic. Being independent is not influenced or controlled by others in matter of opinion or conduct. Teenagers tend to be independent because they want freedom. They also want to do anything they want without other’s concern. According to Stephanie Partridge, growing up means growing apart in many ways. Yes, sometimes being independent is considerable because once a person becomes independent, it simply means that he/she can run his/her life. But not all times. Sometimes, being independent can ruin a life especially to teenagers. If a teenager didn't have parent’s supervision, the higher the possibility of that teen to be in the wrong way. Independency sometimes do have good or bad effect to teenagers.
Another characteristic of teenager’s today is being emotional. As a teenager, you may be dealing with lots of emotional high and lows. One minute you feel great and the next you feel sad and tearful. This kind of shift in grown moods is okay. Emotions are those that are carried away by a teen’s feeling. Being emotional is not bad because it’s just an expression of what and how we feel. According to Anna Moore, today’s 15-year-old girls appear to be heading for an emotional apocalypse, with figures suggesting that 43 per cent feel depressed or anxious, while 27 per cent are suffering from a full-scale mental illness. This is an example of a teen’s emotion that they are going through. Being human is an emotional experience- we all have our moments of happiness, sadness, anger, depression, anxiety and a host of others feelings.
A good thing about teenagers is that they are energetic. Teenagers tend to have lots of energy. Even though they are encountering problems, still they are cheerful. No doubt, they have circle of friends. They are always game with everything. They always go with the flow. In life, energy really is important to perform or to do something. So this characteristic of teens is a big help to them and to everyone. According to Carl Zimmer, when kids pass from childhood to adolescence their mortality rate doubles, despite the fact that teenagers are stronger and faster than children as well as more resistant to disease.
Adolescence is a period of transition from childhood to adulthood. Teenagers are different from each other but sometimes they have the same characteristic that build them to the people they are now. They have characteristics that are either positive or negative. To sum up those, most teenagers have typical characteristics. Being independent, emotional and also being energetic. These characteristics of them help to make them a better person. Teenagers may have negative feedbacks from other people but most of the time, teenagers are considered to be a treasure. They are the hope of every parent living in this world.

Heyy Chairazell! Sapphire to the review!

Another good piece of information on Teens. I liked the heading of the topic. I also liked the way you have started the essay :
''“Life is black and white; it’s up to you to paint the colours”. A simple message from a simple quotation. Here, life is referring to teenagers''.
Its well-written and also properly formatted and also gives good information to the readers.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this essay as I am teenager and I am interested to know more about them.

Thank you
Hi, Chairazell! I'm here for a review!

good luck..
You've got a very good title and thus, becomes catchy to the readers.I like your thesis statement and you've explained it in your way. Nice organization of ideas and topics.
Some grammatical errors were also obtained like the other reviewer said.
Remember, not to start an essay or article with a quote. Well, don't be bothered because I, myself committed that kind of mistake onwriting essays. Just an advice for your next essays.
Hope that I helped.
Thanks for the review
''Teenager's Different Colors''. i like your title. nice idea about that. your thesis statement is great. you did a good job.
Thank you

Hi! I'm just here to make a simple review on your essay.
And at your second statement I think the it should be 'highs and lows'.

I think you just need to observe some important points to remember in writing so you will come up to a better outcome next time. But I'm not saying that this one is not good. What I mean is that I know that you still have more to write, you just can't express it. You are a good writer.
Keep up the good work!

You know what? I like your title. It made me interested to read your entire article. You have a good hook in your first paragraph. It was nice! Your third paragraph discussing about teenagers' emotions is really good. It is the most informative part of your essay. You have elaborated well the ideas you put there. And you also have a good source. Nice!
I just found some corrections on your essay. Here are some:
"Another characteristic of teenager’s today is being emotional. As a teenager, you may be dealing with lots of emotional high and lows." I think the first five words of this statement should be "Another characteristic of teenagers today...". In my opinion it must don't have apostrophe.
"In life, energy really is important to perform or to do something." I suggest for you to switch the positions of "really" and "is". It may sound better.
While reading your entire essay I got confused on some parts. I think there is a need for you to have some more elaboration on some parts so your readers can easily catch up on what you want to convey to us and I suggest for you to use transitional devices so your readers will not be lost on the flow of your essay. But I still got your point.
Hope this helps!
