Sonnet without a title

by Carmina

(No preamble. Here's my sonnet)

Are you sorry for everything you said,
And all the things you forgot to say too,
When everything got so complicated,
And you said I could never be with you?

Do you regret the way you fin'lly left
How you left one day and just disapeared
Leaving me confused, alone, and bereft
Waiting for the day when you'd reappear?

Have you no guilt at all for what you've done
By choosing her and leaving me behind,
Because she is the mother of your son
And to them, not to me, your life must bind?

I understand now why you went away,
But I'll always regret you could not stay.

....Wow. This is.. really sad. You can feel the pain combined with the knowledge that it's the only way.

I know a similar feeling, lol. Very nicely done.

I wouldn't have read this if I hadn't read your other books, but now I think I'll probably read more poetry, especially your stuff. The thing I like most about your poetry is that they don't have all that angst and hate and stuff that other people tend to have. They may be sorrowful, but there's a comprehension there that's beautiful.
