but ya know. i was having a writers block this summer when i wrote this
Chapter Four- Unsuspecting
Two days have passed since the strange encounter. Mia couldn't help thinking about Danny on the way home from school. She knew she would be in huge trouble if anyone found out about her meeting. Part of her wanted to meet him again, but the risk was too high.
Mia relaxed, she was glad it was Friday and she would have the whole weekend to think things over.
"Hello," Mia said answering the phone.
"Hi Mia, it's Shantell," the girl on the other side of the phone said.
Shantell Johnson was one of Mia's closest friends, they'd been friends since Mia could remember. Shantell's father owned a factory next to Mia's father, and the two men were partners in their buisness.
"Oh, hello Shantell," Mia replied.
"Mia, would you like to go skiing with me and Maddie?" Shantell questioned.
Madison Swabb was another close friend to Mia. Madison had moved from a different town because her father got a job offer to be the assistsant head chief in Mia's father's buisness; these two men went to college together.
"That would be great!"Mia replied happily. She loved to ski. This could be a great way to keep my mind off Danny, Mia thought.
The next day, Mia met Shantell, and Maddie at the ski slope. They raced each other, had some funin the snow, and did what teenage girls did best. Gosseip. They exchanged the latest news and talked about whose going out with who and who likes who. They were talking in The Lounge, the highest rank lounge on the ski slope.
"So when Brandon asked Caryn, she said yes even though she has a major crush on Andrew and is already going out with Nate! Can you believe that girl!" Shantell said sharing the latest "things" going around the school.
"Wow, it's getting chilly. How about some hot cocoa?" Mia suggested.
"Oooh... that sounds good. My toes are freezing." Maddie said shivering.
"I'll pay," Shantell offered.
"No,no," Mia insisted."It was my idea, I'll pay.I insist."
"As you wish, Miss Princess," Shantell said jokingly. They all laughed, and Mia stepped up to the counter.
"Hello, my name is Carol, how may I take your order?" The cahier questioned in their awkward polite way, when they're smiling while they talk so their lips dont leave the grin. It allways made Mia shudder.
"He, I would like three hot chocolates please. Oh, and al three with marshmallows." Mia dictated.
"That'll be $15.74 please, "Carol said.
Mia handed her a tweenty-dollar bill.
"Your change is $4.26" Carol saiod handing Mia the change and then a receipt.
Mia got the hot chocolates and took it to their table.
"I'll get some napkins," Mia offered, putting the tray down.
As Mia had practically forgotten about Danny and the strange encounter, the unthinkable happens. Mia strode up to the counter with the least people.
She approached the counter and said, "May I have some napkins please?"
The cashier bet down to grab some napkins to set on the counter. As he bent down Mia saw his name tag, it said "DANNY" but Mia didn't need the name tag to figure this one out. As he got back up, Mia recognized the brown hair and the intensen blue eyes. Mia knew he must have recognized her too, because he was staring right bak at her. The two were stuck in an icy stare, just gazing into each other's eyes, lost in a completely different world.
"Mia come on!" Maddie said, obviously exasperated at how long it took to get some napkins, coming up to the counter. She was followed by Shantell. Shantell came up to one side of Mia and grabbed the napkins. Mia was still staring at Danny even as Maddie pulled her away.
